Seriously tired of reading of the horrible things U2 have done. I'm a fan, and pretty unabashedly forgiving of a lot of what they do.

So...best moments.

Out of Control on the Slane Castle DVD. Love it.

One of my favs

Zoo TV

BAD into Bullet into RTSS into STREETS was pretty epic.

The warm up tour before Elevation was really good - Irving Plaza being the highlight.

Vertigo Discotheque is one of my favorite things by anybody ever.

Oh man. Have I got a story for you.

I saw all 4 Toronto shows that tour. There was an off day between Toronto 1 and 2. A bunch of us got to meet the band that day (but that's another story...)and we listened to them rehearse at the venue. They rehearsed Discotheque and a really rough version of Mofo. Listened to them go over both of them for like two hours, just the two songs. I reported it to a few people on here. There were some who said I was nuts. But then they played it at Toronto 4, on the Saturday night. And then again in Chicago. Never did play Mofo, but I was thrilled to see Discotheque a couple of times, and to hear the rehearsal.

One of my favorite moments was definitely hearing The First Time in full at my first show. Love love love.

One time in 2005 I bummed a smoke off Bono. It was pretty good. Actually he stole a pack from a 99 year old World War 2 veteran, so I guess that wasn't so good, but the point is he shared with me.

ZooTV Sydney's performance of Lemon. Absolute perfection.

Was that really 2005? Seems like yesterday.

Back in 1987, i ran into Bono at a Bangles - Cutting Crew concert in Norman Oklahoma. I was just a kid in high school at the time. I bumped into him in the bathroom, literally, and he told me to "watch where the fuck i was going". He threw his cigarette down on the ground and stomped it out with his soft leather boots, and then bumped into me with his shoulder like a tough guy as he walked out of the room.

I've been an asshole every since that day.

Nice, that's pretty cool. I don't remember that being reported on interference, but then again, I was en route driving to Toronto, and iPhones weren't a thing yet.

I was at Toronto 3 and Toronto 4. I heard the Toronto 4 soundcheck. They extensively did Discotheque, and it was supposed to be right after Vertigo. When they started playing Elevation I was pretty disappointed, but then the whole Pop Muzik encore thing happened and I lost my shit.

I never knew Cutting Crew got big enough on the strength of their one song to be touring with The Bangles.

Did you accidentally piss on his boots when you passed in the bathroom?

A serious contribution: Ultraviolet live from any number of Zootv shows, but most especially from Washington 1992. It is simply phenomenal, closing in full-on Sinatra mode that could be cheesy, sort of is, sort of is meant to be, and simultaneously works perfectly with the Mirrorball Man persona. Ah, and then into With or Without You...

'Let's go to Vegas. Let's get married.'

Wrong thread

-Ultraviolet on ZooTV
-Basically all of Zooropa
-Mofo at the MTV Europe Music Awards
-The first side of TUF
-One Tree Hill at the Point Depot
-Bad live, anywhere

Playing mercy was awesome... What they did to it is another story.

I was at that show, too! Sarah and I were just talking about that the other day. Edge started playing and about two notes in, Sarah realized what it was and started squeeing, and then one of the friends we were standing with shushed her because Bono was still talking, and Sarah was like "BUT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT'S ABOUT TO HAPPEN." Good times, man.

Bet this won't be anywhere near as successful as my thread VP

Ha, probably.

I was talking to a friend on the phone during the rehearsal and asked her to let someone here know - I think Axver, maybe? And he posted it. And there was one poster in particular who kept saying I was full of shit, and there was no way. Vindication a few nights later was pretty sweet. I can't remember what thread it all took place in, maybe one of the setlist threads? We left for Chicago right after Toronto 4, so it was way after the fact that I read it all.

At my one and only U2 show (Vertigo Philly 1), when I heard the first couple notes of Streets.

The most "high on life" feeling I think I've ever experienced.
