Good on your bike ride and be safe Zu.

I ran 3 miles and then did a full weight routine. Yay me. I can eat today. And I can feel myself get stronger which is good.

Dave Grohl is awesome. At my birthday party and I want Bono, Edge and Dave to get drunk with me.

a) oh. my. freakin. gawd. I'll post a report of the ride on fb...

b) good for you. I forgot to eat breakfast before my ride. I was moving/riding/hiking for 5 hours... I am eating all of the things.

c) I will be at your birthday party to.. ya know.. help clean up the leftovers... :shifty:
Long Cox

I don't know what this means since I was out doing sports instead of watching them. But it made me lol

I've had too much 'together' and 'quality' time with my family this weekend. I need them ALL to go to bed an hour ago.

haha - yeah. I tried to read that book once. nope. not happening.

I don't mind watching soccer (football) and live, I think a professional game is great. But I'm just not the kind of person to get emotionally involved in any sport that my kid (or someone I know) isn't playing. Sorry to all you hockey/footall fans out there.

Tony's are on tonight.

I love theater. Annie is coming back to Broadway - so we are thinking of maybe taking my daughter (who loves this musical) for her 5th birthday next year....her first trip to NYC. :D

Sports isn't for everyone, and that's cool. :) I only love hockey - the rest I can pretty much take or leave. But come Olympics time, then I love everything.

I love theatre too. I'll be watching the Tony's whenever it ends up airing here (probably in a few hours).

Cool!

My parents had a tradition with us kids. On our 10th birthday, we were taken out with them to a fancy dinner and whatever Broadway play happened to be touring at that time. Just us, no siblings. I was awesome. I saw Camelot!

Annie was my first musical. I saw the Sound of Music in the movies. It was my first non-cartoon movie.

i'm glad i'm not a big theater person...only b/c it's so expesive.
and as a highly visual artist i do love and crave the incredible visuals in the best indie and blockbuster movies.

having said that... i love set design ,prop design, lighting design and costume design!

haven't seen many plays as an adult...but when i was a tween/teen...my dad took us to Man of La Mancha, ?Funny Girl, Hair, ....

as an adult i've seen... Steel Magnolias, a modern day Julius Caeser (with Denzel), the revived Godspell which i really loved... oh, one with Elton John musical score, and most unusual was in a lot, a semi- construction site ...most of the area had been dug down to ? 2 stories below street level in some places ; it was a Greek TRagedy .

oh just remembered i saw with family and one with friends i think 2 or 3 Shakespeare plays when i was in mt teens--at the famous "Shakespeare In The Park" (central Park)
: i think 2 tradegies and one comedy.

'Les Miserables' was fantastic. We had our choice between seeing that and 'The Music Man' when we went to New York, and since I'm from the town 'Music Man' is based off of, I already knew that story pretty well, so I picked 'Les Mis' instead.

I heard from people who did go to see 'The Music Man', though, that it was amazing and was much better than the movie. Maybe someday if I ever get to New York again and that show happens to be running I'll check it out.

Oh, what the? I just tried to post that they just showed the trailer for Les Miz. It gave me goosebumps and I nearly cried.

The trailer with Anne Hathaway singing I Dreamed A Dream? I didn't know she could sing but if that's any indication, I'm going to love her Fantine...

ETA: I'm not watching the Tonys, I saw the trailer on Facebook a week or so ago.

Re: musicals

Will sit through them, occasionally enjoy them, very rarely, see them on video. There's been a Les Mis movie somewhat recently...I'm fine with just that...

A bit like watching Trainspotting. I understand most of what it being said, but some things are I'm totally lost.

It took about 20 times watching, but I think I've got that movie down by now...

Did some serious art-ing today. Thought I'd just pass the time doodling with markers. Nuh uh. Turned into full-blown acrylics-and-mixed-media...

I love musicals. Not every single one. But I grew up on them from Sound of Music to Evita to Rent to Spider-Man.

I think I need to rent Sherlock. I keep hearing people rave about it. It seems manageable to get into - unlike Game of Thrones or Tudors or even True Blood now.

It's weird - in general, I can take or leave musicals. But there are a handful that I just love. I love what I love, but am not dying to see others.

If I can sing along to much of it, I'll probably love it.
