so what thread were you in, in hostile territory VP?

Oh, it's fine, it turned out not to be so hostile after all. :)

Is there a joke that I'm missing out on? :reject: I saw the scans on Twitter, so I don't know if there was something going on in one of the threads here.

Ugh, I hate sensitive smoke alarms. Mine are crazy sensitive, so whenever I cook ANYTHING I always have to close the bedroom doors that are right next to my kitchen, otherwise they'll start blaring as soon as something starts bubbling on the stove.

Just that Bono has been promising a new album practically since the minute NLOTH came out, and so people on here have become understandably skeptical.

Yeah, gah, I just got this new hardwired ones installed a few weeks ago, they're plugged right into the electrical system, so I can't even take the battery out. :scream: This is the 3rd time they've gone off since I've had them, but admittedly, the first two times were due to smoke from cooking, not just steam. All three go off together, and the upstairs one has a voice that says "FIRE! FIRE! GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!" Scares the shit out of me.

Good night to everyone going to bed.

Thanks. :D

It should be fun. :hyper:

Oh I read a bit about your car issues being under warranty. yay. :hyper: Must have been a relief. :D

Good night to those leaving from me too.

We'll have to see if we can find a good burlesque place to go to in Montreal. :D

Yes, it was SUCH a relief! It was frustrating to have my car gone for so long, and that I had to rent a car, but at least the one they gave me was really cute. :)

Sorry if I'm missing posts, or people coming and going, my sleeping's been sucking lately again, and I'm kind of scattered right now. Slept for one hour last night, then napped for an hour and a half early this afternoon, and I'm forcing myself to stay up to hopefully get to bed at a decent time tonight. :crack:

Ah, yes. :D I hope he's telling the truth this time!

You have one that actually talks?! :lmao: Oh my god that's awesome! It would scare the shit outta me too!

:lmao: Yeah that'd scare the shit out of me too. Our fire/bomb alarm at work is tested the same time of day every week and although they announce it is gonna happen it still scares me. I nearly evacuated the building one day. :lmao:

:reject:

Is it a ventilation thing? Would opening a door/window help?

 I am totally with you VP. I have insomnia so bad it is wearing me out. Last night I slept 5 hours, which is the most in about 2 weeks. Most nights it is 2 or 3. I guess I have too much on my mind, so I cannot rest. Let me tell you, working with 15 kids under 3 with that little sleep is a challenge!:crack:

Yeah, after it went off, we opened the doors (it's MUCH cooler and more comfortable today, but still had the doors closed and the a/c on low due to allergies) and it was fine after that. :)

When I first heard it today, I thought it was a voice coming from outside, and I was all "Omg, I hope they don't call the fire department!" :panic:

Will reply to your PM tomorrow, in order to spare you my fatigue-fueled nonsense.

:shifty: We can try.

Cute rental cars. :D

I was lost for min not having it 2 days when it was in the garage, can't imagine not having it any longer.

Insomnia sistah! :hi5: It's miserable, isn't it? Lord, I can't even imagine working in daycare on that little sleep, don't know how you can do it. I have nothing to do today, and I can barely function.

Good luck with that!:shifty :

 Yeah I'm gonna fail that, I know I am. Apart from when I'm at work as we can't use youtube.

:withdrawals:

:( One hour. I hope you sleep better tonight.

 Is another insomniac triplet. It sucks. 2 or 3 hours makes me feel really lucky though. I can't imagine working with kids after that. :yikes::hug:

I really adore the kids, so that helps! I haven't been falling asleep until 4, and when school starts, I am in trouble. I am part time at the daycare, so at least it isn't every day. I really hate lying in bed knowing you need sleep, but it doesn't come! You get stressed out, and then it gets worse! You are not alone!

A car is absolutely necessary where I live, so I had to rent. If I lived closer to the city where I work, it wouldn't be a problem as I'd just walk or take a bus, but that isn't an option in my neighborhood. It's really unfortunate, and hopefully they'll expand the transit system at some point. Transit's great in downtown Vancouver, but once you get out to my area of the suburbs, it's absolute crap. People keep harping on and on about how we need to protect the environment and drive less. Well, make transit better, and then I'll think about driving less. :tsk:  Idiots.

 That wouldn't have been too bad if a cute firefighter turned up. :shifty::lol:

On one hours sleep :yikes::hug: don't worry about PM until you have slept.

I must say, a certain pair of leather pants with....you know...doesn't help with the trying to sleep either!

"It's punk rock from Venus!"

Another example of Bono's lies.

Vertigo sounded nothing like punk rock from Venus.

Yeah, it's gotten worse for me since my mom got sick. It's like I literally have to be exhausted before I even try to lie down, because if I'm not, my mind starts racing and that's it for me for a least a couple of hours. :|

What I tend to do when I'm like this is going around dragging my ass like a zombie all day, and then as soon at 10 pm hits, it's like BOING! my eyes are wide open and I'm super alert, no matter how little sleep I had.

I can imagine adoring the kids helps alot. :cute::hug:

I don't adore my customers so If I'm tired I have to hold my tongue, which is hard when you work on a helpline and some people are so rude. :lmao:

That lying in bed waiting for the sleep to come feeling. :madwife::hug:

Yeah so true. Where I live or in London for example where my cousin lives are great. Buses/trains/bike paths ( Tube in London ) are decent. If you live out in the suburbs/country it can be non existant in some places. :tsk:

 Oh god, I spent most of my time on the phone to customers today thinking about those pants. Had to keep asking people to repeat themselves telling them it was a bad line at my end. :shifty:

The pants have mystical powers. :shifty:

In theory the whole lure-a-firefighter-to-my-house things sounds good, but I should wait for a day when I'm a little more together to implement it.

I feel like I could write a country song about how Bono keeps lying to me, but I don't hear the lies because all I can see is the pants.
