Major blow to Holland if Robben is out - clearly their star. I think I may need to change my bracket... While I disagree with pretty much everything that Maradona has done, he seems to be right in not playing these "friendly" matches a week before the World Cup. All these injuries are proving him right...

The World Cup just MAY be cursed.....

Ballack
Pirlo
Ferdinand
Robben
Essien
Drogba
Skrtl
Muntari
Mikel

Plus we don't know how fit Torres, Fabregas, Xavi are

I'd say he's a (crystal) star, but not THE star. I think that Van Persie and Sneijder are more important for the team than Robben. But yeah, it is a major blow, because he's a very creative player. As long as he isn't injured. :(

I heard that Tim Cahill was injured, don't know if he'll be gone for the tournament though.

there's not many things i'd rather see than Australia beating England in the round of 16 at 2am in the morning.

If Australia v England becomes a reality, all Australians living in London will need to immediately register their exact residential location with the consulate, because should the absolutely unthinkable happen and Australia wins, they're going to need to airlift you off the roof of your apartment building and get you to a neutral country pretty fucking quickly. Of all the countries on earth that could potentially knock them out, the natives will absolutely not stand for it being Australia.

I'm just hoping that Australia does well enough to advance and play Italy again so the Aussies can get revenge over Italy's stealing the game from them 4 years ago and knocking them out of the tournament.

OZZIE!! OZZIE!! OZZIE!!!
OI!! OI!!! OI!!!

GO AUSTRALIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah i feel for you mate. i'd like to think i'd go off my head celebrating, but from what i've heard about sokkah support in England murder wouldn't be that much of a stretch.

Even with 10 men, Italy were the better team.

This is sadly true.

Although I'm not sure that there is anything much more unpleasant to watch than the way Italy plays soccer at the World Cup.

didnt Italy beat the aussies due to that horror tackle on Grosso which led to the penalty?

That was X rated

NANI is OUT as well now for Portugal

I must say, due to public viewing my interest in watching games has increased. Will be watching on Sunday with some great company. And the good thing is, I wouldn't be sad if Australia won. :D
