count me in as an individual who actually thinks this "code for new songs" rumor is going to turn out to be true.

The sound issues were pretty awful. Massive delay so that the drum solo intro sounded incomprehensible. It was fixed about 3/4 of the way through breathe. (to the point where the echo was at a managable level, and probably able to be edited out). Kingdom and major tom were bad too, but they can easily just add studio versions to the dvd.

If that's the case, then put Breathe as a bonus track....maybe from Vegas (then I can say I was there for that)

As if Breathe being gone wouldn't be bad enough, I will be super disappointed to not hear KingdomOYL open the show too. :(

I went to Boston 2, which was the only show they opened with Magnificent and it was a good opener, but they didn't play Breathe, which didn't bother me. The next day I came on here and read some of the setlist party for that show and there was a lot of bitching about them not playing Breathe.

I was at that show too.

Magnificent was a great opener and there were spectacular versions of Until The End of The World, Stay not to mention YBR!

Despite all this, I was still hoping the whole time that Breathe would turn up somewhere further down the set.

Still, one of the best shows of the tour I think!

It's impossible to put DRM on MP3s.

It's also incredibly difficult to play guitar when you're on fire, but The Edge does it every time they're in sessions for a new album.

On a serious note, it's a big mistake leaving "Breathe" off of this DVD. It's one thing if they left off, say, Magnificent. But the opener, the closer, and one or two middle tracks always end up defining the show. On this tour, the opener is Breathe. Everyone who went to that show associates it with the Breathe opener. To have a half-assed edited version of Boots be the opener is lame. Breathe, The Crazy remix, Ultraviolet, and MoS are the untouchables here. They really defined this tour.

Also, I hope this "new songs" rumor turns out to be false, because it really cheapens the new songs. If, for example, "Every Breaking Wave" is released as a download from a DVD, then it instantly becomes less significant than a B-Side in the U2 canon, and that's a pretty far fall. Also, to release new songs now in any form other than a new album will cause me to believe that they've either abandoned SoA or have delayed it until their next album cycle, which will most likely be at least 2 years away.

I am reluctantly holding off my trek into the rain for dining hall take-out. This better be true...you don't want to see me when I'm angry AND hungry

Disclaimer: I am speculating on the possible timing of the announcement based purely on the timing of the announement of the NLOTH track list in January 09

you wouldnt like me when im angry...

And it's up at U2.com.

Breathe is in fact left off except on the double disk and Blu-Ray versions.

Rose Bowl on DVD.

U2360° At The Rose Bowl will be released on DVD and Blu-ray by Mercury Records on June 7, 2010.

U2360° At The Rose Bowl was the penultimate gig of last year's U2360° Tour in support of their Grammy nominated album No Line on The Horizon. The Rose Bowl performance was the band's biggest show of 2009 and U2's biggest ever US show, with a live audience in excess of 97,000.

The show was also streamed across seven continents via YouTube. The first ever live streaming of a full-length stadium concert, U2360° at the Rose Bowl had over 10 million views on the channel in one week.

Shot entirely in HD, the concert was filmed with 27 cameras and directed by Tom Krueger who had previously worked on U23D, the first live action 3D concert movie taken from U2's Vertigo Tour.

Available in standard and 2-disc deluxe DVD formats (see below), U2360° At The Rose Bowl will also be U2's first concert available in Blu-ray. The deluxe formats and the Blu-ray will feature a new documentary called Squaring the Circle: Creating U2360° with new interviews from U2, Paul McGuinness and the team behind the touring production.

The ground breaking U2360° tour continues this year, with the US leg opening in Salt Lake City on June 3, and the European leg opening in Turin, Italy on August 6.

oh wait. now i see it. good job on the timing Dan.

still no mention of new songs. don't care all that much about "Breathe".

this whole time, i've been thinking this "Exclusive Format" meant new songs, but the way that article is worded, i'm frightened that they're just referring to Blu-Ray.
