The Legend: A 1943 copper penny is good for admission to Disneyland.

Behind the legend: The reason is lost in obscurity, but ticket-booth cast members are instructed to give a Disneyland ticket to anyone who gives them a 1943 copper penny.

:hmm:

:hmm:

Genuine 1943 copper pennies are worth about $10K. Most pennies during WWII were steel.

:nerd:

I just got this email from Ticketmaster:

Hello, this is Ticketmaster Customer Service with an important alert for your upcoming event. U2 scheduled at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Monday, June 7, 2010, at 7:00PM.
You have purchased U2 tickets for June 7, 2010 that stated the entry gate as TBA. The entry gates have now been determined to be Gate 1 or Gate 4.

Wow, I'm glad they cleared that up. I've been worrying about this for weeks.

^ like a nightclub??? :eyebrow: And what's "upstairs"? Is this going to taint my image of Disneyland?

Upstairs is really where the club is -- I think they may have been setting up for something later that day, so we didn't really get beyond the lobby. It's just an exclusive club that Walt had built in the 60's. I think there are something like 400 - 500 people who are actually members.

I just got this email from Ticketmaster

On the day of the show, there will be two lines, at the two gates. At 5 p.m., they will open one of the gates. If you are at the wrong one, you do not get in.

The first show tickets came in the mail with those two gates printed on them.
