PJ's is fine also...i agree, Irish Embassy is just OK although as i recall, the owners of PJ's also own the IE...not to fussed about the suits at IE since that is kinda me....the horror...

I'm also the suits and in fact I'll show up in my suit (though I am a woman) if I make it out on Tuesday. I'll try to grab somebody's cell or BB number to keep in touch because I don't have time to check Interference during the day.

VP I might be interested in those tix of yours...

a place with fuel....i am not fussed either way...i will be out on the 15th...will want sleep on the 17th....only 1 show this year...getting too old...

ok guys....I've been away the forum for a few days, any idea where the guys might be staying at? what time will they arrive the venue? so we can wave at them! I'll be taking the week off just to be relaxed and enjoy the best band in the world!!

I'm going for a walk around the stadium tomorrow on my lunchhour!

As for the Overdraught Pub, I had 2 of my many 2008 Christmas parties there !! Don't remember much but I think it was good :drunk:

And I do agree about perhaps waiting until other people have provided their input on pub of choice. Some people have stated a preference for PJ O'Briens which seems like a decent place, too.

In TO now, we walked around the venue today....no line yet!
Also, gate 15 and 1 are pretty far apart distance wise...I wonder if the rogers Centre will have an "official anouncement"

I've got Tues. off, I'm thinking of heading down to the stadium for just before 4pm. Would be cool to hear soundcheck.

Yes, I would like to know b/c Ticketmaster won't tell us what gate is written on our gate so we have no idea where to line up!

I'm into the Overdraught as well. Most of the reason I didn't want to commit before is because all the other suggestions are too far away. I want to be able to sprint across the street in case of any rehearsal/post rehearsal meet and greet action, like last time. I like Smiley's suggestions, for my vote anyhoo..Smiley, I'd give you a ride home but I doubt I'm going to go home Tuesday night till...oh, I dunno, Friday morning sometime lol!

Perhaps the GA tix have multiple gates, so as to allow more people in at once? Multiple lanes certainly allow for more people than through one alone. Mine says Gate 1, incidentally.

For everyone asking where the gates are, this .pdf illustrates it. I don't think I can post it, so here's a link: http://www.rogerscentre.com/seatmaps/2009_U2_Seating.pdf

The very north and center of the building is the hotel entrance. The GA gates, 1 and 15, are the first gates on each side of the hotel.

The Overdraught really does seem like the best option for me too, so if we're taking votes, that's mine.

Someone posted at the GTA yahoogroup that the gate numbers don't mean anything and to disregard them.

I'll go to the Roger's Centre tomorrow on my lunchbreak and see if anyone knows.

Thanks for calling Lady :)
Will be good to get things cleared up.

Also, sorry again if this has been answered buuut...
1) Do they have a purse/bag policy? I heard in CHI guys cant bring small backpacks?
2) Does Roger's have a policy about when lineups start?

Maybe one line for people who want to be in the inner circle/pit, and one for people who want to be in the main field area?

That ruins my contingency plan tho!
*pout*

As long as the gates open at the same time and they assigned the same number of tickets to each gate it shouldn't be a problem.

True, and it prob would help make things smoother to split the crowd. But if the gates don't open at the same time, or if one gate has a holdup? :yikes:

I'll be a patron on those days, they can't tell me to get away. I'll just say a couple hundred of my friends are hanging out with me. ;)

You're popular, lady. :flirt:

I don't think it really matters what gate you line up at. What are they going to do, turn you away? Yeah right. I'm going where ever the main line/everyone I know is. ;)

I hope not! With my luck, all my friends will have one gate and I'll have the other! :fist:

Here's what I got out of the Chicago line situation:

Basically, the "line up" started about 60 hours (two and a half days) before the show. Some dude started handing out home made wristbands to people, and the first night of the line, they were allowed to leave for the entire night. Other people got pissy about this (rightly so IMO) saying that if they arrived there, they should be ahead of any people who left for extended periods. The line people were repeatedly told by security and police that they weren't allowed to line up that early, and would be arrested, so they kept moving the line and no one could find it anyway.

In the wee hours the day of the show, there was a stadium line and a wrist band line. These two lines combined, but it sounds like there was some nastiness. From 6 am on the day of, the line grew rapidly. At one point in the afternoon, when the line was supposed to be "closed" (no one can leave), it turned into more of a huge mob of people rather than a line, with 20 or more people side-by-side all the way down. They let groups of people into the stadium and made those behind wait. The staff didn't know how to snap the wristbands closed, so this took a long time. With all the chaos, some people who arrived in the late afternoon ended up in front of people who had been there since early morning. It sounded chaotic and dangerous and frustrating.

:scream: I hope this doesn't happen in TO and Boston. :uhoh:

Does anyone have any objections to the Overdraught on Thursday night? It's right across from Rogers on Front, and I have a feeling that that's probably as far as my tired old legs will be willing to go, lol.

The OverDraught Irish Pub

If that's not acceptable, no problem, just a suggestion since it's so close, and no one else seems to be making any. ; )

Seems fine to me. Im happy to go anywhere nearby. :)

VP's right I have no idea what gate I am at as I am will call. :grumpy: Will pop by box office when we check in the hotel tommorow and ask if they can tell me what gate it is and if its different to friends gate can we line up together. :)

Am at Heathrow airport on the wireless internet. Just waiting to board flight to Toronto which leaves at 11.55am.

:hyper::hyper::hyper:

Doooooo it! I did at Chicago, and it was awesome.

By the way, I'll be arriving Tuesday night. I'm just gonna play it by ear like I did in Chicago. I'd like to check out soundcheck again. This time I'll bring something to get signed so I don't look so silly. And perhaps afterwards hit up a pub to crunk it up just enough so I sleep easily for camp out. Haha in Chicago I slept in a park with the other homeless and bunnies, which was fine til the sprinklers woke me up. But at least I got a free shower! Totally ready to do it all over again :)

Too funny! I forgot to check my ticket to see which gate I'm at. I'm still undecided about what time to leave home (Ohio) and what time to line up for To2. Reading about the Chicago GA fiasco has me kind of worried. Hopefully we will get some details in the next day or two and I can come up with a plan.

After on the 17th sounds good although I'm planning to drive home that night. It will be a good place to go and wait for the traffic to die down. I vote for the place right across the street (geez I cant remember the name and too lazy to go back and look)
