just tried to watch The Wrestler :barf: I turned it off after 20 minutes. :reject:

My sister and I have been on a Red box kick lately but my time to watch movies was so limited the past month that she rented a bunch without me. It's hard to rent stuff with her because now she's seen everything i want to see. I wanted to see Doubt when it was in theaters but never got a chance and now I can't seem to get my hands on it when I go to rent a movie. Everyone I talk to in Phoenix and MN keep telling me they just saw it too  We were going to get Doubt or Notorious (she's held off renting both to wait for me) but both were out so this is what we ended up with. My sister decided she wasn't interested and went to bed early. My friend has a bootleg of Taken that she's going to bring for me to see this week. Can't wait to see that!

I liked The Wrestler

oh and I see Randooooom was stickied with other chat threads.........no longer have to search for it on page 2
:applaud:

On break and have to head back soon.
I traded days with a co-worker and will now work 9 days straight
I WANT my new comupter!

That is all

^
Mine did that a few days ago when the rumors started here.
He is just unreal. He never said he retired completely, all he has ever said has been, "as of now..........." he has retired, as of now being the key words.
Make a friggin' decision, Brett and stick to it.

arw, you can have him.

and for the millionth time, I WANT MY NEW COMPUTER NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(as I am typing this in the Time Warner cable place they have ESPN on and guess who they are talking about? I gotta get out of here so I don't have to listen)

Lots of mixed feeling over Brett. This is a man that Minnesota spent 17 years watching, hoping he and his team would loose. While I really did enjoy watching him play and being part of a rivalry with someone that, hard as it is to admit, was clearly better than my team most of those 17 years, I just can't imagine all of a sudden wearing a #4 PURPLE jersey. :tsk: Then on the other hand.....the Packers are the Vikings #1 enemy so it would be kind of fun to see their old leader walk into Lambeau with that #4 purple jersey on.

I just wasn't expecting this news. I thought he was done and we'd hear from him in a few years to take on a coaching or broadcasting role. Last night someone at work who is a huge Bears fan came in and said "Favre is meeting with Childress at an undisclosed location this week. HA" My response "noooooooooooooooooooooo " Everyone in the kitchen looked around and gave each other  looks and wondered what his comment meant. This is all weird.

I will say if Brett Favre becomes a Minnesota Viking I will buy his jersey only because I once got into a huge season-long argument with a Packer fan and I said I'd rather rot in hell than ever wear #4's name on my back......if it's a purple #4 then that's another story.

It's been awhile since I've posted....have been dealing with family drama on a daily basis that has me near a nervous breakdown half the time.

On a good note....I am going to go to San Francisco for work the first week of June!!!! :hyper: It's such a great opportunity and I feel like I've kind of actually achieved part of what I imagined I would be doing when someone asks where do you see yourself in x number of years. I'm getting to do what I've always wanted to do. Once I get back though the summer is looking to be insane work-wise so not much kicking back for me.

sorry about the drama...I know all about that lately. It's not fun :(

But that's awesome about San Francisco! I can't wait to hear all about it!!!

 :scream: My sister left AGAIN today. Yep. She didn't even bother to consult with me and booked a flight a few weeks ago. I knew it was going to be slow this week and could have gone home for Mother's Day but she wanted to go too. It's too hard with the animals for both of us to be gone so I didn't even bother to look into it and picked a different week. She only booked a 1 way and I told her that 2 weeks again was unacceptable especially since I want to go home too. So after a few days of her not committing to a return date, I booked my own round trip ticket, forcing her to think about a return date. She gets home at 11 pm the night before I have to be at the airport at 5 am  She also has my suitcase but that's because I made treats at work for her to bring and she needed a bigger suitcase. So I have to get all of my stuff ready and then pack right before I leave. So now I have a nice loooooooong 10 days :| Yep. At least when she gets back I get to go. I'm going to job search. I'm definitely ready to just be home. I'm already sick of the heat and it's barely May. I'm also ready to work someplace else that's going to challenge me and show me other things. I LOVE the resort that I work for and have nothing but the best to say about the entire place but it's time to leave it. I've been so homesick the past month I can hardly do anything but sleep and then go to work.

The crappy thing about tonight is this is a surprise for my mom so I have to go along with my sister's lie that she's at a happy hour bday party for a friend....that was actually last night so I hope I don't slip when I talk to her later.

:crack: that was so hard to lie to my mom....she asked a million questions about where my sister is even though my sister has been telling her all week that she had this happy hour to go to, which was true but just on another day. The reason why the happy hour is a big deal is it's with her former company that might hire her back. They are getting busy again and just need a few more weeks to figure it out. Personally I don't think they should have told her this until they know more. She had to go in last week to get her friends computer for us to use. The friend was on a phone call with a client so she couldn't come out and just meet her. My sister had to walk into the place (after waiting for a bit in the parking lot). When her old boss saw her she said she was just thinking about her :blahblah: My sister was going to skip the happy hour until she heard this news. Then she thought it would be a good idea to socialize a bit with everyone so she went. No one knew anything and acted like they were hiding something...so that means they don't need anyone. :( So anyways I had to make up all sorts of things to tell my mom about when she left, what she wore, etc :crack: My mom is :coocoo: I can't wait til tomorrow morning when she shows up at the house so this can all be out in the open....

Tonight I had some time to talk to my supervisor about leaving. She was cool about it. She even said she really had a feeling it was coming, especially since last month when I told her that my sister's lease is up in June. I told her I was not giving my notice just yet and I'd let her know. She said she would write me a letter of recommendation to send with my resume to a few places this week. I also really need to talk to our executive chef. I had to work a function with him tonight and almost asked if I could talk to him in private tomorrow but I figured it wasn't the time or place for me to bring it up. I really want a letter from him as well. Other than my tiny little incident with him a few months ago where he thought I wasn't doing anything in one of the restaurants, I've always had a good relationship with him so hopefully he won't be like some people and take this personally and refuse to write a letter for me or help me inquire about a transfer. My pastry chef that was laid off in March is like that. I've seen him completely ignore people for their whole 2 weeks once they put in that notice and then barely wish them well, like they were leaving because of something he did. But I don't think the exec is like that. I'd rather just be open about this and not sneak around so I can get referrences as needed. This is for personal, not professional, reasons so I think it's better to just let him know. Any other time I've left a job it's been because I wasn't happy with my current job but that's totally not the case here. It's just in the wrong state. :(

Just a quick post, no time to read anything that will come when Baby Blue gets hooked up .........yes, the new laptop came and I have named her :cute:
Not a clue what I am doing to set up a wireless........I tried the other night and got nowhere fast.......my true computer idiocy is showing thru.

Knee is causing grief, so I haven't felt like walking the mall to get here and the new scheduling came out so it is also causing grief...........:tsk: I am in the China/Bridal dept. on Sunday by myself  Never worked there. Don't have a friggin' clue about how to order China and crystal and register brides............"I need a manager to China for a customer" will be my phrase o' the day.

Gotta go
I miss posting here :(

Just saw the new Star Trek movie. I give it a .

My dad is the biggest Trekkie in the world and he gave it a . My mom reported that he complained the whole way home from the theater and then took out his Next Generation book which explains all about warp drives and stuff and told my mom about each and ever inaccuracy. :giggle: I have a few non-Trekkie fans out here who said it was great.

I rushed home from work to let in carpet cleaners who have not yet arrived.

at first I thought it said "baby Bruce" :der:

Can you plug it into your modem and just to be able to get online? That's what we had to do with the laptop before it's little illness a few weeks ago where we sent it in.

I can't find a job in MN and no one I actually know in this industry has any leads for me. The main person I'm waiting to hear back from is completely ignoring me  She's one of my chef instructors at school that always responds immediately to us when we send her hello emails or pics but then completely shuts you off when you ask for help with a job  I'm sure all of the instructors get hounded about finding help for a job but I would think it comes with the territory and she should be used to it. A "sorry I can't give you any leads...." type of an email would be nice.

typical of life these days........my one and only friend in AZ stood me up tonight. I knew she would so I didn't even bother to get ready. She was leaving work by 7 at the latest tonight and then we were going to either go out or she was just going to bring over a few recent movies that she just bought that I haven't seen yet. I texted her a few hours ago and she said she had to go home and walk her dog but she wasn't sure what time that would be. I knew that meant we weren't going to do anything since normally she's more on top of plans. Yay. At least there was more on TV tonight than on Friday night. That was the longest night ever....

You can have him...........buh-bye Brett.........Purple Heart is picking up some stuff soon and guess where the jersey is going? I am just sick of him.
Don't care if he comes back or not, I really don't.
It is baseball season and all the attention is on Brett

BTW I have glommed onto someones wireless internet connection...........I  the new laptop.
I start work at 2:30 so I gotta get ready soon

How did my response to arw about brett end up sandwiched between posts on the 8th?
Gotta go

 to arw

I consider myself a moderate Trekkie :nerd: - I liked the original series and the next generation show, but the shows after that were boring. I went to two conventions while I was in college, but just because my friends wanted to go. I did get to meet Sulu ;) - he was nice. The guy who played Q though - kind of a jerk. But maybe that was because he was stuck at a Star Trek convention in a tiny room in the basement of the civic center in oh so exciting Tallahasse Florida.

I could care less about warp drive inconsistencies though

My dad, who's the big Trekkie and introduced me to Star Trek, liked it slightly less than my sister and I. But then again, he likes the show Enterprise and that sucked :reject:

:D :D I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaack :D:D
The computer hook up challenged person (me) has figured it out with the power of a Corona .............wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..............this is fun..... The beer and the new computer :D

Bruce didn't pick me up last night on his way to Chicago : pouts:.............he was supposed to swing by on his way from MN to IL to get me........*dreaming*
Bruce

I went from:gah:to :happydance:
New smileys

Storms tonight.

I am off for 2 days. 9 days in a row was :crack:.........don't know how you do it, arw ........

Lots of power fading here. Storms.
The first big storms of the season.

Arw, a co-worker vacationed in Phoenix and went to the botanical gardens........the gardens had Dale Chihuly glass in them.....it is there until the end of May I believe she said. Her pictures were stunning. The contrast between the desert and these spectacular blown glass pieces. Wow, just wow.
