Me too.
I am going to have to stay up past my bedtime tonite
Just got back from watching them perform "Breathe" on Letterman! Television and even the cd cannot do justice to how great that song is live. They look and sound amazing. They seem younger than ever and Bono's voice is in top form! The audience loved it and so did the band! It was exciting as hell! The rest of the show was actually pretty funny too but U2 blew off the roof. Wonder how it will translate on TV but regardless it was an amazing experience and the tour is going to be Magnificent!!! errrr..

They won't ask U2 questions. If you sound too excited for U2, they'll give up your tickets. They always want LETTERMAN fans. I once asked who the guest was and they said "you should be excited to see Dave, it shouldn't matter who is his guest." It's a long day of waiting in different lines and what not. All worth it though. Dave comes out before the show and chats with the audiance and gets to know some people. I love it when he puts inside jokes between him and the audiance from before the show, into the show itself. Dave is a cool dude

GOYB for Fri and I heard they did a comedy sketch too and maybe an interview, we'll see!
They need to get Joaquin Phoenix on backing vocals for this gig.
I went to Letterman about 7 years ago, with guests Richad Simmons & Giselle Bundcen.
Richard Simmons dressed as a giant turkey (it was right before Thanksgiving), made a big fuss. When he tried to hug Letterman (who has a bad neck, and every guest is instructed not to touch him), Letterman yelled "Somebody get this fucking fag off me!"
Obviously, that line didn't make it on air.
