Theres no consensus on any of the beach clips being NLOTH. Hell I think I can hear the line being sung in clip #4 (only Love) but not many others would agree...

Then I think "Breathe" should be replaced with "NLOTH" because that song title has already been confirmed as being on the album.

Breathe is a confirmed song title.. perhaps it features the album title, ie Fast Cars

Maybe I'm misreading your post, I'm not sure what you are alluding to.

What I meant by NLOTH being confirmed as a song title was not that it MIGHT be on the album, but it IS on the album. It was being mentioned along side the song: Get on your boots as possibly being the first single according to some articles we've been privy to. They may still release TWO singles, one in the US, one in Europe...though nothing has been confirmed.

There is the blurb about the video shoot for what seems to be "Get on your boots" from U2.com, but there was also the earlier video shoot for NLOTH that required some green screen imaging to be done.

yeah I hear what you're saying, but we've also seen Breathe quoted as a song title recently too, no?

what if the album/song's called No LOVE On The Horizon?

and the album cover's an horizon, but the sun is heartshaped? :hyper:

Another update of the popular :)D) Simplified List.
This is a compilation of rumoured songs where audio or video has somehow been made avaliable for listening or to watch. Please note that other song titles have been mentioned as well, but no media is simply avaliable for them as of yet.

Last update: December 13th 2008

Should I (not?) include some more details for the next update? I hope I at least didn't leave anything out since the last update. Please, send me a PM to communicate with me and avoid getting this thread filled with personal comments.
By the way, do we know if "Scales" (the IrishTeen clip) has turned up in any of the other (un)official clips since it was recorded? It shouldn't be too hard to determine a chord key or some of the quick chords being played, right?
Also, I don't intend to solely keep this updated by myself. If anyone would like to add or maintain the list in some way please go ahead! :)
Enjoy!

Edge mentioned NLOTH in his Mojo interview dated as recently as November 20th. Breathe and NLOTH are clearly 2 distinct songs.

If I remember correctly, that interview was taken a few months earlier because it told some old news we already knew about in September.

So my guess is that they changed NLOTH into Breathe as the title of a song. But yeah, it's still a guess...

I am 99.9999999999999% sure they are different songs. We have another clip (very low quality) from May that is a totally different song where we can hear the lyrics " No liiiiiiiiine"

Aside from that Breathe was mentioned in that article (which was held weeks before it was put out) that named breathe, and NLOTH came up as a title again after that.

I think it's great that they only revealed some songs that are going to be on the album, so that when it comes out there will be songs we haven't even heard of.

Agreed.

There has been a good amount of talk regarding a song with the refrain "No Line on the Horizon" featuring Edge's heavy distortion box. From what we keep hearing, the band is really excited about the song and thought about releasing it as an opening single. Of course anything could have happened in the last couple of months since they decided to delay the release and rework some stuff, but I'm still pretty positive that NLOTH will be a song on the album.

So if they end up calling the album NLOTH and have a song NLOTH, then it would make THREE albums with songs that share the name of the album on them? October, Unforgettable Fire, and Zooropa....right? Am I missing any?

I'm also guessing that NLOTH (song) will be a rocker like Breathe, but i'm not so sure.

Maybe it's more like ATYCLB (Walk On), HTDAAB (Fast Cars), Rattle & Hum (Bullet The Blue Sky) and Under a Blood Red SKy (New Year's Day), where the album title is mentioned in a song.

Oh, and what about Boy (Twilight), War (Two Hearts Beat as One) and Achtung Baby (The Fly)?

good for us that they never name albums after prepositions though...

Ahhhh...good point. Could definitely go that route. Hmmmm....didn't think of that. :hmm:

Its usually pretty safe to say that most U2 songs that have words or phrases that comprise important parts of the chorus are usually named after that phrase or word. Not always the case, but pretty much a good bet that most of their song titles appear in some way shape or form either in the chorus of the song or somewhere in the song.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure if they have a song with "No Liiiiiine on the Horizon" as the chorus, that they won't change that song to another name just for the sake of it. I like the idea of getting another song-titled album. An even 1/3 thus far. And I have serious soft spots for all 3 of the previous ones.

I'm glad Bono appears to have lost that pop belly he had during the last tour. I'm not even gay and I couldn't help but be turned off by it.
