The real reason that the new album is delayed is because it wasn't good enough. I don't want to be pessimist, but the same happened with POP, it was due to release in 96, with songs like Super City Mania among others. I remember crearly that the band members said that the album would be from another planet. But in the end there were info that the final result was so confuse(soundwise) that they had to rework the songs... the outcome i think everybody knows.

I think that all that talking about " we are on a roll, so why stop now" and "there is no short cut to greatness" is all bullshit. It's almost true that the album was already finished. So i don't buy this.

The result was crap and they got back from scratch.

And POP was crap. In 97 there were much better albums.

Hey - you're derailing my thread. You want the real reason? They went to France, listened to the album, tried to pick a single to release before the end of Sep to get in this Grammy cycle, and nothing cut it. The songs sounded too much like Bomb. So it's back to the drawing board. Now get back to work on the posters.
