ENTIRE AB ALBUM

ENTIRE POP ALBUM

Without or Without You

I could see them being lazy, and doing it exactly like JT30.

4-5 early 80's hits to start the show,

Achtung Baby

Encore same as before with maybe a couple JT tracks added in.

Nothing from Zooropa, Pop, or anything else from the AB era.

I think this is a huge possibility and probably the most likely.

You’re gunna meet a giant walking through the world
And you may ask the giant “what am I here for?”
And she says, “Bono, you need someone to look up to.”
And I say “you shine like a burning star…”

"God Part II" should be there somethere in the beginning, since it really is the beginning of AB.

4-5 late '80s songs (what album could that be....)

Yeah - this is Turin - it’s similar but longer

The Pittsburgh one had something about meeting a giant. It was odd.

Oh my god!! I had no idea.

It's so fucking good, this should be like Hear Us Coming or Shine Like Stars and used on U2gigs.

This version you've posted though suuuuuucks. All over the place, and it sounds like it's from a show where his voice was not good? The one I know, from the Boston DVD, is exceptional ("you walk out into the sports hall / lights go down / it's a whole different scene / of light and motion / light and motion / Bonoglese / it's hard to walk away / and you could have it all / we could have it all / Bonoglese / but love...") Bono really puts a lot of passion into it.

Yeah, youtube doesn’t have many 2001 fly performances. Pittsburgh was about a month before Boston, so some of the mid leg shows are him playing around with words, seeing what fits. It’s interesting to go through them.

Well, they'll play Love is Blindness. Which is good enough for me, as that one is my biggest wish in general to see. ZooTV style of course.

Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World should also be a highlight, if they indeed play it in a similar fashion as on the original tour.

I think the most I could hope for is that they play one song from Zooropa and one from Pop. Since PopMart was so associated with that Las Vegas opening show, I think there is a slight possibility that they may finally play something non-acoustic and non-boring from that record.

No right but, no God Part II?

And lest anyone forget what a barnburner it was:

Exit and Acrobat were the highlights from the last two tours so they’d be wise to try and go for another mean, hardcore deep cut but do I think they would? I doubt it. Wouldn’t mind being wrong though!

IMO, Hawkmoon 269/Heartland would introduce the notion of the desert perfectly before closing it out with Desire that rolls Vegas straight into AB

Yes. "Exit" in particular was striking. Even more so than "Acrobat" (to me). GP2 is def R&H's offering in that mold.

But, #TheyreLazy. (And afraid of most of Rattle and Hum.)

I am generally very prepared to hear the war horses because they are catering to the average "I know the hits" fan. But this "not a residency" situation is perfect for them to go all in and cater to a more discerning audience. I know the casinos are likely holding a good amount of tickets for high rollers who will want to show up just to show up. But otherwise, it seems like the tickets are primarily in the hands of the fans that have seen them multiple times. All of AB and the best from Zooropa and Pop plus Streets. Make it a 90s extravaganza! Oh, and no creeper baby, please.

Is this an average fan show, though, considering the travel implications for most?

No, I am saying the opposite. For all other tours, I get why they have to trot out the usual suspects. For Vegas? Make it niche since the audience is going to be heavily made up of crazy, I have seen U2 XX times fans!

Totally agreed. I am brain dead this afternoon, thanks for restating your obvious point!

Vegas is NOT going to be diehards mostly. Oh baby, it's going to be filled with people who don't even know who Larry is.

Eh, if they are there just to be seen, then they can suck it and sit through Daddy's Gonna Pay for your Crashed Car.
