OMFG

you could not make a better thread

One of the songs that had grown up more on me. Certainly top 10 or 15.

And you know it's time to go
Through the sleet and driving snow
Across the fields of mourning
Lights in the distance
And you hunger for the time
Time to heal, desire time
And you earth moves beneath
Your own dream landscape

The city walls are all torn down
The dust a smoke screen all around
See faces ploughed like fields that once
Gave no resistance

And we live
By the side of the road
On the side of a hill
As the valley explode
Dislocated, suffocated
The land grows weary of its own

Oh coma way o coma wa o coma o coma way say I
Oh coma way o coma wa o coma o coma way say I

great lines...

I'm glad to see so much love for a charter member of the IMP13 Top 5 Club.

I put it on last night after a lighting strike took out my TV. Played it again this morning just because it sounds so good.
I so loooove this CD.

even though my first thought was Is this a HMTMKMKM thread.

I thought he was singing part of Stay... "Ohh ohhh OOOOOOOHHHHH oh oh"

A Sort of Homecoming is great!! It has always been one of my favourites from The Unforgettable Fire. It's like a journey...it's a musical journey... OMG I love this song :faint:

I thought it was that bit in Discotheque live; where he goes "Oh, oohh, oohhhhh, OOOOHHHHHHHH" before the "Boom-chas!" kick in.

Anyway; I love A Sort Of Homecoming. The Wide Awake In America version is just too great for words.

Another thought-provoking thread title by IMP13!

I like this song but it doesn't have that special something that I really can't explain... that kick I get from their rockier songs. Of course I can appreciate the beautiful lyrics in this song but UF as a whole is a little dull, IMO. It's good but it's a bit mellow. :reject:

I admit, I listen to UF more during the winter, but it's a fantastic album, in my top 5 U2 albums for sure.
