I am here:) I don't shy away when I am wrong. I am just surprised is all. In all honesty. I think it's great that they were nominated, but I dunno. Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of the bed today. Haha

Looks like there's some good competition in the catagories U2 are nominated in this year. They're definately not shoo-ins.

Wow, Green Day really did well. My biggest concern is the inclusion of Ray Charles. I have not heard the album but my impression is that it is not nearly as good as his previous stuff. Seems like he is just being nominated for obvious reasons.

My sense is that they will at least get one... probably not all three since it would look like a repeat of Beautiful Day.

I hope that they perform on the show, though...

apparently u2's only the second band to get "record of the year" two years in a row. roberta flack was the first, and u2 got it in 2000 and 2001

I am fine with the nominations they got since winning 2 record of the years from the last album backfired and they didnt win album of the year....maybe this time it will be different.

I don't think they will win anything..
They face some hard competition from Green Day.
but nevertheless.. 3 nominations is not bad..

Song of the year? BFD. I'd much rather see the Boys contend for Album of the Year - the biggest and only prize.

U2's music, IMV, is about the body of work for the entire album. Albeit the Grammy Awards are a joke, it's disappointing not competing for the biggest prize.

Anybody know if the album needs to be released by a certain date to contend?

Album has to be released before a certain date (not sure what date) but HTDAAB was released to late.
It will be for next year...

Grammy year runs October 1 - September 30, so the album was not eligible this year, it will be next year.
