7 inch vinyl promo of vertigo

Why would there be a 7 inch promo? Do radio stations still play these? I collect these and I bet that this one will be very hard to get unless I steal my wifes credit card.........

It says it's a vertigo SINGLE version. It's 20 secs longer than the radio version at 3:31. They probably just extended the first verse?

Although the website proclaims the single to be #;#1 long, if you look closely at the image of the 7" and CD, it clearly states 3:11.

I thing U2wanderer just got it wrong.
