Best Movie of ALL TIME

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
1. Henry V (branagh's version)
2. Barton Fink
3. It's a Wonderful Life
4. Willy Wonka
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark

My personal favourite is Jurassic Park, came out at just the right moment to keep the interest in Dinosaurs that I as a kid had there and that has made paleontology somewhat of a calling ever since.

I have to agree that Raders is a superior film - I got my modified A2 bomber jacket and that has served me well.

Lord Of The Rings
Once Upon A Time In The West
High Fidelity
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs

Oh, and last night I saw the beginning of The Getaway (the original one, not the remake). I need to check out that one too...

I think most snooty movie critics say Citizen Cane or Gone with the Wind. But what say you blue crack dwellers?

I say "Citizen Kane" as well, but I also have the education of a "snooty movie critic." The film is absolutely brilliant and well ahead of its time.

Here's the rest of my top 5:

2) Three Colors: Red
3) Three Colors: Blue
4) Vertigo
5) Cremaster 2

I've also got a soft spot for "Kill Bill," but can't justify it as a "great" yet...lol.

I won't agree with the movie, but Marlon Brando is definitely one of the greats, if not *the* great. His contributions to the evolution of acting are immeasurable.

tough question.

my nominees, in no particular order:

shawshank redemption
life is beautiful
the pianist

...i know there are more, but i'm drawing a blank just now.

honourable mentions for movies that kick serious ass:

pulp fiction
kill bill vol. 1
snatch
fight club
memento
run lola run

The Seven Samurai by the greatest of all time: Akira Kurosawa.

In my opinion, there is less than no room for argument on this matter. If we're talking American cinema, though, I would have to side with Kershner's The Empire Strikes Back. Rock on.
