I'm trying to start a web site to put my paintings on. I tried uploading the pic that's my avatar to Tripod and it's a disaster. You can't tell the star is a star. Does anyone know of a good hosting service that doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and might actually reproduce my pix?

www.doteasy.com - if you register through them for your domain name ($9) they offer a free hosting service for you. It's a decent amount of space, too.

deviantART.com is hosting a lot of my stuff, it's rather like Interference in that one can have a free- or paid- membership.
