anybody whose followed the group a long time knows whats up with these dublin boys. joshua tree was huge and put them on the map , they toured the stadium route with cowboy hats and cockroach killers. the follow up rattle & hum spawned the love town tour , stadiums and hats and boots ... the same shit basically and alot of people ( especially in america) panned the album and the tour. shit i was one of them. then came achtung baby and the zoo t.v. tour and they were back on top of the world. stadium tour with tv screens all over.possibly one of the greatest tours ever. i wont count zooropa as a tour because it came out in the middle of the tour. then came pop . stadium tour with giant tv screens and it was panned by fans and critics alike. so we move on to elevation, arena tour that was awesome, the heart brilliant, back on top of the world. now its vertigo, arena tour with the ecclipse ... judging by the bitching on every thread this ones up in the air but leaning to the negatives. the good news is in five years U2 will blow us away. we will see acrobat , so cruel , indian summer sky , like a song.. , all the good shit and their next album will be awesome instead of an imitation of a goo goo dolls soundtrack to a wim wenders film because the pattern will see them humbled.

the eclipse could only be used properly indoors in the US. standing ga wasn't permitted in stadiums and can you imagine the heart with people sitting down? as much atmosphere as a minutes silence
