Pyramid Song - Radiohead

Forgot one that may just be the saddest thing I've ever heard:

"If You See Her, Say Hello" - Bob Dylan

If you see her, say hello, she might be in Tangier
She left here last early spring, is livin' there, I hear
Say for me that I'm all right though things get kind of slow
She might think that I've forgotten her, don't tell her it isn't so.

We had a falling-out, like lovers often will
And to think of how she left that night, it still brings me a chill
And though our separation, it pierced me to the heart
She still lives inside of me, we've never been apart.

If you get close to her, kiss her once for me
I always have respected her for busting out and gettin' free
Oh, whatever makes her happy, I won't stand in the way
Though the bitter taste still lingers on from the night I tried to make her stay.

I see a lot of people as I make the rounds
And I hear her name here and there as I go from town to town
And I've never gotten used to it, I've just learned to turn it off
Either I'm too sensitive or else I'm gettin' soft.

Sundown, yellow moon, I replay the past
I know every scene by heart, they all went by so fast
If she's passin' back this way, I'm not that hard to find
Tell her she can look me up if she's got the time.

Wilco - Jesus Etc., Poor Places, Wishful Thinking (Wilco make me cry a lot  )
Bright Eyes - Nothing Gets Crossed Out
Alien Ant Farm - Crickets, Movies (makes me think of someone...)
Radiohead - Motion Picture Soundtrack
Keane - Nothing in my Way
Bloc Party - Compliments
U2 - With or Without You, Love is Blindness, One, If God Will Send His Angels, Wake Up Dead Man, Running to Stand Still, Bad... (okay a lot o U2 songs have made me cry but probably WOWY the most)

yeah, i'm overly emotional

Frank Zappa - Titties and beer

it does make me cry laughing

I don't know the actual name of the song or who sings it, but it goes "Don't be afraid/oh my love/I'll be watching you from above/and I'll give all the world to be with you/'Cause I'm on your side/and I still care/I may have died/but I've gone no where/just think of me/and I'll be there." I wish I knew the song and who sings because its so beautiful it makes me teary-eyed.

That's "I'll Be There" by the Escape Club. :)

Aside from U2 live (at which I cry at almost every single concert, usually during "Bad" and "Streets", though "An Cat Dubh/Into The Heart" and "Electric Co." did it to me last time, because they remind me of my childhood) . . . .

. . . . so aside from the Godliness of U2 live, the only 2 songs that I can remember making me out-and-ou cry are:

The Cure - "Plainsong" (because of its sheer beauty and power)

Travis - "Some Sad Song" (hidden track at the end of "12 Memories", and that was because of what was going on with me at the time)

The one song that usually makes me tear up:

Bruce Springsteen - "Stolen Car" (because of the haunting lyrics)

I Want Someone Badly - Jeff Buckley (I think this is one of the most beautiful vocal performances I've ever heard.)
Drive - The Cars (the first time I heard this song was when I watched the Live Aid dvd and they were showing that film footage of starving children. Now I can't get those images out of my head whenever I hear it.)
Running To Stand Still - U2
Love Is Blindness - U2 (especially the live ZooTV Sydney version)
Everybody Hurts - REM
Hurt - Johnny Cash
Hallelujah - anybody's version (I love this song), but Jeff Buckley's version is my favourite
Mother - John Lennon

Plus lots of other ones that have already been mentioned.

There is a Pink Floyd tribute band that plays in Ohio; my sister cries every single time that they play Wish You Were Here, and at the exact same spot as well.

Beck - Guess I'm Doing Fine

"Press my face up to the window
To see how warm it is inside
See the things that I’ve been missing
Missing all this time

It’s only lies that I’m living
It’s only tears that I’m crying
It’s only you that I’m losing
Guess I’m doing fine "

Which album is that??
P.S. Love this thread..keep it comin....

Weight of the World- Black Rebel Motorcycle club

Bit of an odd one maybe....

This is more than I wanted,
Take me out of the dark, I roam there,
Cold and black, you're out of touch, yeah,
Lightly falling through a whisper, you're scared.

It's the weight of the world,
I know, as I struggle to be...whole.
It's the weight of the world, I know,
As you were mine, and we will find...

One that tends to get me is Jeff Buckley's live version of "Hallelujah" from "Mystery White Boy."

If you haven't heard the song, stop what you're doing now. Go to iTunes and buy the version on "Grace" and this live version. It is simply one of the most beautiful things you'll ever here.

Then consider on the live version he included these lyrics before drowning and leaving the world WAY too soon.

Oh mother, i can feel the soil falling over my head
And as i climb into an empty bed - oh well, enough said
I know it's over still i cling, i don't know where else i can go, over and over...
Oh mother, i can feel the soil falling over my head
See the sea it wants to take me, the knife wants to slit (cut) me
Do you think you can help me?

Sad veiled bride please be happy - handsome groom give her room
Loud loutish lover treat her kindly though she needs you
More than she loves you - and i know it's over - still i cling
I don't know where else i can go - over and over.....
Oh mother, i can feel the soil falling over my head
Oh mother, i can feel the soil falling over my head

It's a clip of a Smiths song, I believe, called "I Know it's Over."

Then keep in mind Buckley inserted the lyrics between his own the lines "Every breath we drew was Hallelujah" and "Well, maybe there's a God above."

I'm at work... :shifty: In Toronto... :hmm: that's not too far away, you never know...

Kafrun lives in Toronto (well, technically she's moving soon, but she'll be at the shows there next tour.) I'm good friends with her....so I might see you there.:shifty:

I usually don't cry while listening to songs, but many tug at my heart.

Peter Gabriel - Biko hit me really hard today though...such a sad story

These songs move me like no others.
They don't always make me cry, but they can under certain circumstances.

The Rain Song - Led Zeppelin
Beautiful - Gordon Lightfoot
If - Bread
Can't Help Falling In Love - Elvis
Sweet Surrender - Tim Buckley
Kite - U2

There are many others, but these are the main ones that bring me to my knees every single time
