When society was spoiled in its spite
she was my shelter and my shade
A watchful mother to a boy
who wished for better waters to wade
Every pulsating ripple of light
The sun, the moon, the stars
Cascaded across a horizon
to help mend a world's scars
If I could bring joy to another
I'd wish for jubilation upon her
In my eyes there is no other more deserving
