Let's hug it out, bitch.
Hey, I've never posted here before in this forum but I think this is the right forum to ask in...

Do you guys know any U2 songs that would represent a revolution of some sort, that has to do with war..

I was thinking new years day...

Thank you!

BTW can I please get my other exact thread locked! :)

New Year's Day is a good one, it was written for the revolution in Poland. I think of Sunday Bloody Sunday as a rebel/revolution song - but against the conflict and violence. Similarly, Miss Sarajevo is about a revolution for peace. You could also take a look at the words to Silver and Gold.

Oh and Lemon represents a revolution in the use of falsetto.

^Silver and Gold is about the revolution against Apartheid.

I guess it depends on how you define a revolution, and a war, which songs represent a revolution. New Year's Day is probably what you're looking for in a traditional sense.

It isn't U2 but this should be perfect, tps.

Biko by Peter Gabriel

September '77
Port Elizabeth weather fine
It was business as usual
In police room 619
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

When I try to sleep at night
I can only dream in red
The outside world is black and white
With only one colour dead
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

You can blow out a candle
But you can't blow out a fire
Once the flames begin to catch
The wind will blow it higher
Oh Biko, Biko, because Biko
Yihla Moja, Yihla Moja
-The man is dead

And the eyes of the world are
watching now
watching now

Here's the Wikipedia article on him:

Not only is it revolution, it features the classic martyr found in many noble revolutions. Your teacher might give you a higher grade for pulling out Stephen Biko.
If you don't have the song drop your e-mail. Good luck with it.

I would say Miss Sarajevo... Such a beautiful song about what's wrong with the world... REvolution songs don't nedd to be anry like Sunday Bloody Sunday (though I like it too), they need to touch people's hearts and I think MS is perfect when it comes to that. Please could be an option too.
