AB is one example that makes me wonder why we’re sometimes insistent that continued work on an album is a bad thing. If that were the case, then we’d be talking about an album that consisted of songs like Heaven and Hell, I Feel Free, She’s Gonna Blow Your House Down, Wake Up Dead Man (w/ the Spinning Head), etc. Maybe not too bad in the long run, but we would’ve missed out on a lot in the long run too.

It's likely beginning the process of mastering, if I had to guess. Maybe a few more tweaks here and there, but that on the heels of Adam's "hit the red button jack knife" post make me think they're just doing the mastering/overdubs/ final touches now.

Here's my likely meaninglessness, altogether cursory analysis:

U2 are most active on Instagram. It's really the only platform that members contribute to on a regular basis.

In 2016, on average, they've posted to instagram 25 times/month. The low mark was February, when they posted only 10 times . The high point was May, when they posted 35 times

In June, they were posting on a daily basis until June 9, when things went quiet.
Yes, they posted a note in solidarity with Orlando on June 13, but otherwise nothing..

Indeed, from April 1 onward, we've gone from a rate of a post every .96 days, to only -- y'all know I'm going nowhere with this, right? I got nothing. tongue firmly in cheek here. grasping at straws. strawman.

Regarding Tour rumors: That's interesting. Because U2Valencia was quite confident when they reported about the Tour / Fall 2016 US Leg.

Now U2Argentina reports that the Tour will "in fact" be continued Early 2017.

Regardless of Tour dates ... I guess SOE can easily be released in September.

I don't see a summer (=June/July/August) release of SOE coming

Yeah, true. There was a beach shoot for Q magazine in 2013, which was eventually used a year later when SoI finally came out.

It's a good thing they put a guitar in his hand for the 2nd commercial; I could swear I saw a DirectTV ad with him and no guitar, I did not even recognize him.

When you have a celebrity endorser, often good to test the ad to make sure the audience at least recognizes the celebrity. The guitar helped.

I pay to be premium because it enables me to post polls, which I used to do often (for Rank the Song and Survivor). And because I use this forum a lot on the iPhone, so I feel bad not contributing ad revenue.

Agreed about what U2interference.com should be, perhaps with the addition of posts about the latest U2 news.

I think it's probably to do with not letting anything get in the way of promoting the tour DVD.

And the purpose of those social media posts is probably Guy Oseary telling the band to be relevant and connect with fans in a newer way, whilst also maintaining public presence (any album teasing is a happy side effect). With the concert film out, they're largely achieving that anyway, so Facebook posts aren't need until the film is old news.

Even if the album is happening soon, I'd give it at least a month from when the DVD was released. Makes sense to keep the promotions separate.

Personally, in retrospect, i thought Adam's pictures and the occasional photo from the others were boring, confusing, and a waste of time. it didn't connect me to the band, it didn't make me think of U2 anymore, it didn't give me any information regarding new music or possible tour...i'm still at a loss as to why this was done. i'm sure there were other ways via social media to keep the fans engaged w/ the band other than random photos.
