Actually, the electronic press kit at the start of the tour had a high quality studio version of Kingdom/Soon that was cut into two parts. Someone ripped the audio, combined the parts and the final product came out to be around 2:15. So we likely already do have a high quality version of Kingdom/Soon.
No we don't. The beginning and the end of that preview were the same parts. Listen to the "live" version of it. There's about a minute missing.

Well, considering they changed the title from "Kingdom Of Your Love" to "Soon," and it seems to be a shortened, edited version...I wouldn't be too surprised if it was a teaser.
I doubt it's edited. I bet it's simply the version they played at the start of the concerts. The title Soon fits it better than Kingdom of Your Love.

I thought it was decided long ago that Bulldozer morphed into Elevation?

That was the general thinking and then a fan bluntly asked Larry this before or after a concert. Larry said it was two different songs. Actually my speculation was that it became LAPOE, and obviously I was wrong as well.

Somehow I get the impression that you feel like you might offend me by making suggestions for improvement or offering new insights and friendly reminders? Do I come across as an uptight person who can't take criticism to you?
Thanks for helping me out.

Well, I didn't want you to take it as criticism, just suggestions. You are the one who has bothered to collate all the information together, I just didn't want it to come off in the wrong way.

soon is 2:05, and it is a complete song. there is an obvious beginning and end. unless they cut from the middle )which i dont think they did) it is all there is

i would say that is most likely. Track one, and at 2:05, already tested on the big stage, it would be a good intro. Possibly going into a new song that may open the tour, as they have said they are working on a new intro

You know what, that'd be even more awesome.

I dont think there should be any doubt that Kingdom is complete... I cant see how they could squeeze another verse in and have it sound as organic. I am really proud of them that they didnt. It is like what B was talking about in the TUF video - they are just letting the songs come out through them. This is the first time in AGES that it feels like the song was already written, and they are just the vehicles for getting it on tape.

Yeah, I felt a little annoyed that the full song was only 2:05 at first, but it sounds really good.

agreed. The outtro is a bit different to what is on the rip from the media pack we got a year ago, but the same as in the lvie show. It works. Im a fan

And when was the last time we (U2) ever had a song that went for under 3 minutes? A long while ago, if I'm not mistaken, eh?

The beatles I believe.....

I love that they did that. It is the anti-MOS. Soon is organically short because the song should be. MOS is organically long because the song should be. I am happy with where their heads are at.

Yeah Green Day's got a ton of them, but U2 I think the most recent short ones under 2 minutes would be MLK and 4th of July. :hmm: (unless you want to count Drunk Chicken)

I think there were a few Achtung Baby b-sides that were under 3 minutes.

Right??? Kick off the album with this, and then 45 minutes of pure death metal.

:lmao:
Perfect. We're always whining about them needing to mix things up, and wouldn't this be far more experimental than recycling the '90s?

(For the record, I love '90s U2 dearly. Zooropa FTW.)

Hey, guys, I heard they changed the name of the new album from "Songs Of Ascent" to "The Horizon Saga, Pt. 2: Ascent Of The Demigod."
