I remember finding it in '05...can't even remember if I was the first one - if so, I'm sure I found it in the main picture area, and brought it into this thread. Anyway, I encouraged all the others to listen, and Ruff ended up loading a bunch onto her iPod and passing it up and down the GA line at the first Vertigo shows. :lmao:

I started messing around, writing one of my own, and then I got to the point where if I read a really good one, I'd be all "I suck! :scream: " and give up on mine. Plus, I sort of lost interest, quite honestly. Then I dug mine out again early this year and started writing again, then I got stuck on mine, and read a couple more really good ones (Zooey, I'm looking at you :angry: :kiss: ) and gave up on it again. Might give it another go when Sarah goes back to school. Kind of weird writing when another person is lurking about: "don't bother mommy right now sweetie, I'm busy writing erotica." :cute:

I had 2 writer/one Zine publisher friends in SF andoms so they would (like it's e-mailed now) mail me the x-rated sections that were editied out of the Print Zines! :lol::drool: Fun times!
 
Oof, in the hour and a half or so that I went (dinner in air conditioning - YES PLEASE), it's gotten like 10 degrees hotter in my living room. You can tell the sun's coming straight at my windows now!

But I reset my router, and I'm up and running in the bedroom, both fans aimed at me, so yay.

I've been using "Hachi Machi" for years - I know it pops up in shows or movies from time to time, but no idea where I first got it from!

wow i guess maybe b/c it's that the sun has been out all day ( your area) that when it hits your ?western windows?

FOr me b/c I lived in an apt that had eastern facing windoiws but nothing to vblock it omce the sun came up pretty much over the horizon...in like ?2 hrs my bedroom woukld be 10 -15 degrees hotter than the rest of the3 apt.:ohmy::no:
 
Yep, western windows in the living room, and only crummy blinds covering them. It's usually not bad on hot days until mid to late afternoon. But when we have a streak of hot days, the place doesn't cool down from day to day, so it's just kind of crummy.

My bedroom faces east, so it's where I usually set up camp in the evening, and lug my fans in there.

As far as I know, Zooey only wrote the one, it's about Larry, and it's very, very good.

As for mine, I started it when I was in school, and it's like the creative portion of my brain had switched off, and I was only able to write in a very concise, scientific way. So I know it has lots of flaws. If I were actually going to do it for real, I'd have to go back and completely rework it, as opposed to being all "sexual tension! More sexual tension! Sexual tension ratcheted up to 11! PORNY SECTION!"

OH GOD YES. So much yes.

I think that's why I love Cedars of Lebanon so much. The vocals remind me of Velvet Dress. The subject matter is much less sexual, but still very evocative.

When I was a lot younger, I may or may not have written Duran Duran fanfiction ... with a total Mary Sue lead character. :shifty:

I wish upon all that is holy I still had them, just so I could go back and read what my approximation of sex was way back then. So sorry they were lost along the way. Or destroyed in a fit of horror.

Ho, YES! I was so thrilled when I heard him using the low voice. When I first heard the album (and I didn't hear anything but GOYB before its official release), the two tracks that stood out to me the most were the title track and Cedars, both just seemed so different and striking from what I was expecting.

Earlier this year, when my Bono lust was reignited, I went on an insomnia-fueled quest to figure out those lyrics. The ones at atu2 and u2wanderer contradict each other. I actually downloaded a lossless version and started messing around with the sound levels to bring the vocals out. I googled to find if it was possible to isolate vocals on a sound recording. What can I say? When I get on a mission, I go all the way. :lol:

There's also a verrrrry interesting part I heard on the lossless version, just as Edge's solo is starting....kind of moany.
 
And what were the results of your intensive research as to the murmured lyric?

Eager pervs fans want to know!
