Do you really think the far left has taken over the Democratic Party?

Yeah, real easy to register in Florida as well. They come through all the high school senior classes and give you a basic slip to register, or pre-register so that you're automatically registered when you turn 18. Alternatively you can just regiser with your license at the DMV.
given the rather right leaning party in power in new zealand is working on free contraception for unemployed women (a start, at least), you'd be nuts to suggest the democrats are far left.
not really a comparison, just saying.
The Democratic Party in the United States is center-right.

Overall, 51% approve of Obama's new position on same-sex marriage, compared with 45% who disapprove. Nearly 13% say his shift in position will make them more likely to vote for him, while 26% say it will make them less likely, suggesting that more supporters of likely GOP nominee Mitt Romney feel more strongly about this issue than do base supporters of Obama.
Since Obama announced on Wednesday his shift on the issue in an interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts, his campaign has highlighted his position on gay rights while charging that Romney would further restrict rights for same-sex couples. Though Obama endorsed gay marriage, he told Roberts that the issue should be a matter for each state to decide on individually.
Ron Paul's ardent supporters are not likely to line up behind Romney.
I don't think Mitt Romney even has a chance to be the GOP nominee. It's funny how blatant the Mainstream Media ignores the actual delegate count. I wonder what they will do when Ron Paul wins the GOP nomination on the first ballot at Tampa...Will they keep reporting that Romney won already?
I am hopeful...even with the amount of media bias against Ron Paul, he is still wracking up delegates. Here is the actual delegate count: The Real 2012 Delegate Count for the Republican Primaries & Caucuses

A lot of people do these comparisons with politicians from different eras. It is kind of pointless.
The right/ left and conservative/ liberal are defined by the times they are in.
I get that America is 'conservative' (whatever that means), but you gotta ask yourself how far right the window can shift before you're talking real damage. If Obama is a socialist, you're in a world of trouble.
