3 Irishmen and a Dutchman Walk Into A Sphere - General Discussion Thread Part III

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

That's good work. Did you have to do a lot of social media work or just some ticketmaster luck?
Saturday’s was via social media (friend of a friend had a spare), Thursday’s was via asking everyone in line and eventually finding someone with a spare. Was trying everything really, but that’s what ended up working.

Someone on the Facebook group has been to 16 shows at the Sphere. SIXTEEN! If she got the cheapest tickets, that's $2,240.
I wonder if that was the woman next to my wife and I on 2/3. She was a local Vegas resident and said it was her 15th or 16th show. It was GA, and I believe she had done GA for most if not all her shows, so that would be more like $4,112.00.

The other time was at Vertigo in Philly - with DaveC of all people - where we got there at 6 am day of show, sat down and waited. And I almost had to go to the hospital when i got home the next day because it was supposed to be overcast and rainy and ended up being hot and sunny without a cloud in the sky and i didn't have an ounce of sunscreen on my pasty ass legs - which were purple the next day.
thank god for the guy with the shopping cart full of soft pretzels.

i think getting there at 6 am got us numbers in the 50s or so, and we still ended up right on the outer rail close enough for boner to sweat on us.

for i/e, i walked onto the floor literally 5 mins before the band came on stage and found a rail spot along the catwalk near the b-stage.

why anybody would bother or want to line up multiple days early makes no sense at all to me, what an insane waste of time.

Bruce is getting everyone paid and taken care of after decades of underpricing his shows. If anything, he has more of a chance of the same rich faces in the front pit now than the previous lottery lineups.
It's funny -- at the Madonna show I just saw, she was name-dropping her 80s contemporaries, like MJ and Prince, and she also mentioned that she has "crazy overhead" and that sometimes she doesn't make any money on her tours. She then brought up Bruce and mentioned how he has "no overhead, he just plays for 4 hours and pockets everything." Humble and modest she is not.

In fairness, her shows are like Cirque elaborate, although she's not dancing as much these days, understandably.

Nevermind the 10+ musicians onstage with him. And the actual, live singing and playing. Or the on-time start…

At least that one has the during-the-show check-in. Well, you could check in first and go in after doors open, but won't be in the front twice in a row unless your shady friends save you a spot on Friday.

4 am, lol. Just going to say it, they really need to get a life. I got a GA ticket for Saturday and sold it, I'm glad that I did. Saved a bunch of money on the travel hotel and ticket. And I would not want to deal with crowded GA bs, not healthy for me.

I already went last November, that was enough for me and it was special. All that other stuff for me personally crosses a line from loving them/being a fan into something else that I will be polite and not say.

Looking for March 1st ticket --- I kept changing my plans but right now going to last show March 2nd (as you all know) in the 400s that I got in one of the fan sales.

Also did we figure out if anything is better than GA? 100 section worth it?

Also when I'm looking at 800 dollar tickets on StubHub for section 101 or 110 and it's row 25 and higher, I know overhang blocks some of the screen but I'm more curious what was the face on that -- it was 400 for row 25 and up and 515 or whatever for most of 100 section. Just trying to figure out how terrible it is.

I'm trying to wait of course until I get to Vegas, but if I do make it and don't care about Vegas, might as well spend too much on a ticket.

I still don't get how GA stubhub and the like works -- but a lot of people must get in that way or how else would it work. I assume scalpers/ticketmaster/stubhub are mostly buddies.

I also was talkng to another member who got a ticket at the box office -- I didn't even think about that option. Is there also a line for that or just for jerks with GA tickets who love themselves?

Does facebook group offer anything helpful for other fans or just GA fans? Do they have a group of 100 section people who just get together and enjoy life?

I spent on a ticket 140 bucks. Hotels/ parking and flight 1200. Food for me will be 500-1000 is my guess (somewhat a joke, but me fat, love coffee)

Thinking of Penn And Teller that's about 113 bucks (I guess I could find that box office)

So in my mind I can justify spending way more than face on a U2 ticket since I know I'll be sad if I'm doing something else when I know U2 is playing even if I'm lucky to go to 1 show in the nosebleeds.

I know this is not the exact right spot. I also know this isn't therapy.

But I had to get that all out.

Lineup drama gonna get dialed up to 11
Hopefully they have someone up to the task

Well you knew Larry would make his dramatic comeback, now it's not a surprise thanks to the prestigious Daily Mail.

I don't care that he's at the Sphere, I just hope he can work on a new album with them. And who knows when but a regular tour again.

Maybe Larry will make his big entrance by knocking Bram off the drum stool and dragging him off the stage. That would be true Daily Mail material. Assuming Larry can do that after his surgery (ies?)

Bram did a good job 👍

The GA drama has been scaled up to 12 not 11 and for some reason I have entered the stupid fray.
Bahaha.
If they go back to sub-$500 Red Zone next tour I may suck it up to bring the family. I can be a typical dummy in GA myself but not interested in this crap with a child or two in tow.

It was 12 pm for earlier dates. Saw some recent reports that it was changed to 3 pm for these last few dates.
