Doing a back-to-back listening of Nick Cave's Henry's Dream and U2's Achtung Baby. 91/92 was a good year before the wave of grunge came crashing.

Let's combine every era of Bono, toss it into the Walking Dead and photograph the most gruesomely chopped version of his bust once his rich Irish ass has been ripped to shreds. Happy Saturday.

Nice try. Even at your best you're still incredibly boring.

I'm pretty sure I've never heard zeppelin III. I've heard I, II, and IV a bunch as far as numbered albums go, though.

In random shoes news, I went running in some old (which is probably bad, but they're comfortable as all hell since I never wear them) running shoes. It turns out that I'm not really any worse at running as a fat, 30 year old smoker than I was at 17...I'm a lot less mentally a wuss about it, which seems to make all the difference.

Replace Hats Off to Roy Harper with Hey Hey What Can I Do and III instantly becomes one of their very best albums. The acoustic/electric split on the latter would have fit in perfectly and it's a great song.

The "wave of grunge" thing (bands that were part of that scene would be the first to roll their eyes at this) was basically at its peak in those years. And it produced some amazing music.

Possibly. I mean, I got caught up in "grunge" and it is only now at the age of 36 I am discovering albums from the time period that were great and not part of that scene. Like Mercury Rev's Yerself Is Steam, Primal Scream's Screamadelica, and Spiritulized 's Laser Guided Melodies.

Do you have an artist whom you like, but they have one song that overshadows all their others?

I quite like Beck, but Debra is just by so far my favourite song of his it's ridiculous.

I prefer The Golden Age to Debra, but those two are my definitive favorites.

I'm not a big fan of Pavement, but I think Gold Soundz is a fantastic song. Same goes for Wilco and I Am Trying to Break Your Heart.

Yessss, although I love Misunderstood and Sunken Treasure as much as I Am Trying To Break Your Heart.

Grounded just edges out Gold Sound as my fav Pavement song.

For a while, the district sleeps alone tonight was the only song on that postal service album I liked. I liked it a lot, and couldn't have cared less about anything else on the album.

I prefer the Chromatics' cover of Running Up That Hill to other covers of Running Up That Hill.

I like most of the songs on that album.

It's no Yeezus, but it's good.

Today seems like a good day to marathon listen to one of the greatest American bands of all time - Guided By Voices.
