I love the ending credits.

And that they dedicated the movie to the dude who invented the sewing machine.

And the intermission! "You're as bad as your sister, coming home from the temple at all hours, painted all colors!"

I just love that movie.

John spooning eyeglasses out of his soup: "What's this? Glasses?"

Waiter/lackey: "Yes, that's right sir, they're glasses, sir."

I am totally going to bust out the VCR now and watch that movie. Because I still have a VCR and still own the movie on video.

Bourbon or rye whiskey, vermouth, simple syrup, and a cherry or orange peel. Simple and graceful.

Sounds delicious minus the vermouth, syrup, and fruit.

So theres this video on youtube. It's a song by 2 girls. And it seems to be about smoking weed and smelling farts and eating poo. wtf? It looks to have a bit of production value too. But there are nipples in it, so I cant post here (yet it's still on youtube somehow). Cupid Kidz is the name if you're interested

Quality vocals

Not according to J-Len:

John Lennon said, "'Oh! Darling' was a great one of Paul's that he didn't sing too well. I always thought I could have done it better—it was more my style than his. He wrote it, so what the hell, he's going to sing it."

I feel he's right.

I feel he's wrong. I like Paul's screaming. John probably would've also done a good job, but there's nothing wrong with what we got

I didn't even say I like Paul's screaming. Don't play the semantics game with me. I said it was of a quality, but I didn't say whether it was a good or bad quality

Disco Inferno - The Last Dance - YouTube

I can't properly describe how much I love this song. Just amazing. Melodic, beautifully recorded and layered, awesomely arranged...all of it is great.

Shame about the band name, obvs. They get pegged as post-rock, but this is honestly closer to Ride or other dream-pop of the era.

You do seem to have personal vendetta against Paul though, laz.

Let me think about that for a while...

We lost it when they all started singing Ode to Joy in German, starting with the Scotland Yard inspector.

Cop: "My goodness, it's Raja, the escaped Bengal tiger! All you need to do is whistle Beethoven's famous chorus from the 9th symphony."

John: "Of course, why didn't you think of that, you twit?"

Correct response was "Yo Mama".
Friggin' Cobbler.

I was in fact making a Yo Yo Ma joke, so Cobbler was correct.

If you listen to songs from the older albums, when Lennon's really letting it rip, he definitely sells that kind of thing better.

Hey, who cares if you completely rip the shit out of your vocal chords singing Twist and Shout? As long as it sounds good and rough.

(I love Twist and Shout, but FUCKING OW.)

Fact: "Twist and Shout" is one of my absolute favorite "Beatles'" songs, simply because f the belted out vocals.

Gang, I'm going on vacation for six days come Thursday. Any New York recommendations? Sbarro?

Not sure what type of food you're looking for, so here's a bunch of suggestions.

Isle of Capri (for fancy Italian dinner), Rice to Riches (a rice pudding place with a few dozen flavors), Venieros (for excellent Italian pastries), St. Mark's Place (for all alcohol and cheap food needs), and the West Village on Bleeker Street (again, for alcohol and music venues). Enjoy your trip!

I know I went to Lombardi's when I stayed in Soho last year, which is the "first pizza place in the US" or whatever. I was waiting in line there when Jeter got his 3000th hit.

Gotye is playing arenas now. And he'll sell them out immediately too. Amazing it's all off the back of one song.

And not to brag, but I was hanging out with his sister on Saturday night.

Well most people don't brag when they strike out ;-)

 I wasn't even playing this time though. So there was no striking out to speak of.

I had teppanyaki last night. It was great but I wanted to see some tricks. The cook just set fire to the steaks with a mini-flamethrower.
