Hope you enjoy the snow, GG!

I have jury duty coming up next week (yay! :tsk:), so I was researching it and came across this hilarious thread on how to get out of jury duty. Some funny stuff in there, but there was also a lot of great and helpful advice. I'm hoping I won't get selected, since it's for a criminal trial, and those could go on for AGES, and the pay is shitty. :crack: You don't get paid for the first 10 days. If it goes beyond that, then you get paid a paltry amount per day, which is better than nothing, but still - that would barely cover the cost of gas to get to the damn courthouse every day (1 hr drive away), plus parking and so on. :tsk: Thankfully from what I've read (so far), it sounds like people who are unemployed are rarely picked. Crossing my fingers that that will be the case. I wouldn't be opposed to serving on a jury - it's just the timing right now is SUPER shitty. They gave me two dates - one in January, which was cancelled, and then this one next week. Should be interesting to see what happens.

Anyway, so in all my researching I got totally distracted and obviously lost track of time. It's 1:37am. :uhoh: Whoops. Oh well - at least I have nothing important going on tomorrow, so if I end up sleeping in (which I probably will), no big deal. :)

Why yes I certainly am. First thing I did is go outside to prepare a snowball in a bowl for my cat. She loves it as much as I do, lol, though she eats it. Kitty ice cream.
Hope more is to come. :D Otherwise the ski trip next friday will satisfy my need for snow.

So you guys are forced to do this jury duty? But wouldn't that ruin the purpose of the jury? I mean, if people don't want to do it, it's not very likely they'll pay attention and rule properly, right? Hope you don't get picked. That'd pretty suck.

Ah so we're 9 hours ahead of you now. I really can't remember all the timezones, I do recall Melbourne being 10 hours ahead, but that's about it. Darn DST and whatnot.

Aww, yeah animals tend to enjoy it, or be totally freaked out.

Yes, if you're summoned for jury duty you have to do it. You could get fined or spend a day in jail if you don't go. This explains the selection process much better than my feeble brain can at this hour: Canadian Jury Duty

So I'll be bringing a book, and probably end up waiting around at the courthouse for most of the day, bored out of my skull. :)

Yeah, time zones can be confusing when they're constantly changing. :tsk:

I dont drink :sexywink:
but always up for some wine in good company :flirt:

@ Thora, just yell that he/she is guilty as hell

JJ - that was suggested several times in the thread I was reading!

I'll just have to wait and see what happens, and cross my fingers that they don't want me.

Okay, I'm REALLY going to bed now.

She doesn't like to step in it tho, lol she always starts wriggling her feet in the air to warm them back up. :giggle:

Woah what the heck, a day in jail if you don't do jury? :crack: Wow that's mad. Glad we don't have that here.

Ack I keep forgetting you quit drinking JJ. Sorry man.

 Haven't been here in ages, but I'm sick and needy, so where else would I go to find pics of the boyz to make me feel better? :)

Jury duty here is ridiculous, agreed! At a job I had years ago, you had to turn your jury duty money into the employer, wasn't that a crock? They paid you for the day off from work, so I guess they thought it was unfair that you got to keep the $11 or whatever they give you for JD.

 MOTS!

 Aw, you're sick too? Same here, I took a sicky from work and plan to spend the day in bed. :crack: Have no desire to do anything else and the doc didn't have time until tomorrow. What's wrong with ya?

Gg!!!

Damn, it's been toooooooooooooooooo long since I've been here, I know!

I'm sorry you're sick, oh noes! In addition to my usual Bononucleosis, I've got some crud that's going around: coughing, sneezing, gunk in my chest, headache. I'm not allowed to take drugs so I just have to drink tea with honey and lemon and pretend that's medicine. Which it's NOT.

What ails you, darlin'?

: shifty:

I need a copy. So very badly. Of both stories. *has to go through the ff section again*

I will email you... might take a couple of days cos I'm half asleep and I'm out tomorrow night, but I won't forget!

Never had Nutella covered pretzels  :hmm:

Neither have I, but I want to!

Planned my Croatia trip a bit, staying there for a day and then taking a road trip through Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina to Sarajevo

Wow, that sounds like an awesome trip!

OMFG IT SNOWED!!!! :yippie::hyper:

only a light dusting, but still! That explains my super epic headache last night. :D

... You have snow-predicting headaches? Don't move any further north...

Mot! I can't remember, did I drop the email ball? :reject:

Hope your crud goes away!

Also, I blame Rafael Nadal for making me stay up and wtch tennis last night and making me a zombie today... :crack:

Hell of a match though!

I can't remember, it was probably me! :reject: Nothing new in my usual disasterous life, other than hubby lost his job. :crack: Because, ya know, things weren't nearly bad enough already, apparently. :sigh:

Whoa, peeps be coming out pf the woodwork.

I'm off the grid for JD somehow. I don't complain though.

Mot and a few others, I know I'm owing you some PMs. I've been slaving elsewhere but you are not forgotten. Should have something in the next week or so.

:reject: Sorry I went off watching pokemon for a bit there. I'm trying to relive my youth lol, watching the first season and playing along on the very first game I bough.

Doesn't sound like fun. :crack: Hope you get well soon!

I got bad side effects from new asthma meds that went from being thirsty to having a throat that hurts like hell with whatever I do. And also a lovely skull splitting headache and a painful ear. :crack: And I'm supposed to go on a trip friday.

... You have snow-predicting headaches? Don't move any further north...
Well, sorta. It's pressure sensitivity. Snow only appears when there's low air pressure. And I get headaches whenever that occurs, so usually the evening before the snowfall. Or bad rainstorms it occurs at too. Kinda annoying.

Also, I blame Rafael Nadal for making me stay up and wtch tennis last night and making me a zombie today... :crack:

Hell of a match though!

:shifty: It was worth for the end though, to see them both shirtless.

What? He lost his job? Duude that blows! Have you found somethign new yet?

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that... :( There's got to be some serious good mojo coming your way soon, or I'm going to have to have a word with the universe... :madwife:

Ack, that sounds awful! I hope you get sorted out by Friday... especially if it's a FUN trip you're going on.

Ah, that doesn't sound like fun at all... :(
I've had some funny headaches in bad weather the last couple of months, I wonder if that's a similar thing.

:shifty: It was worth for the end though, to see them both shirtless.

I didn't end up staying awake for the fifth set, so I missed that... There were pictures of Djokovic on The Age's site today though. :shifty:

Apropos of nothing - I find Lil' Wayne disturbing to look at.

Sorry to hear about the job, Mot. Seems like no one is getting a break anytime soon. I tell my husband that anytime he gripes.

And my malady - sinuses. It's not usually my sinus season (late fall) but I have fallen victim to headaches for days now. Not severe, but annoying and always just there.

Speaking of zombieAlison, bed time for me...

Have fun on the ski trip, GG! Hope you're feeling better... and I hope you don't damage yourself! I heard snowboarding can be accident-prone...
