I am lit up like a Christmas tree.

As am I.

I ran seven miles today, then hit the biergarten at the 7 Seas Brewery. After several iterations of Ballz Deep IPA, I am definitely in an altered state of conciousness.

Top threads in EYKIW right now:

1. Discuss how it makes you feel that Bono lost more money last year than you will ever make yet still remains one of the richest men in the world (is Bono OK?)
2. Achtung Baby reissue/remaster
3. Why buy the Achtung Baby reissue/remaster?
4. Bullet sounds like Strangehold: best method of suicide?
5. Use the last letter of the previous U2 song as the first letter of another U2 song part 456785438987654345678754345786544567 (we started repeating songs on page 1 of part 1 because we're fucking dull)
6. U2 songs you like
7. U2 songs you like and dislike
8. Top reasons why you belong in a straight jacket
9. Discuss U2's greatest failures
10. Discuss something boring that belongs in another section anyway

I'd say this is the lowest point the forum can reach, but I don't want to be proven wrong in the morning.

I would think that, in the absence of new material, the longest that EYKIW could sustain itself in terms of original discussion is about one year. After that, given the number of subscribers to the forum, the possibilities of conversation will have been exhausted. At this exact moment in time, I would venture to say that nothing new can be said about U2 in that forum.

i miss yertle. wonder how that kid's doing. although i guess he's not a kid anymore. i'm pretty sure he's the only person to ever call the umass radio station on the phone from singapore.

4. Bullet sounds like Strangehold: best method of suicide?

lolwut.

there is an npc in world of warcraft whose name is something like "ted nugg" and he walks around with a cat called scratch fever or something stupid like that. it did make me laugh a bit the first time i saw it.

You forget that there are many bands who will release songs that contain half a second that sounds similar to With or Without You's bass line, that there are youtube comments saying that U2 suck, and that Morrissey continues to take an avid interest in U2's career.

Cannot say I laughed at all at that "kelet" thing.

Funny that Quidditch has come up here. I promised someone that I would read the HP books, and I have been going through them dutifully. Quidditch is easily my least favorite part of the series.

Was my least favourite part of the movies too. So boring

Why is this? It's been so long since I read the books or watched the movie, but aside from it being a bit incongruous to the story I thought it was ok.

What a fucking horrible idea it was to go and play quidditch though. I did a johnny and fucked off when "the snitch" was running some 200 metres away.

Worm Mountain is the best thing MGMT have had their names attached to in ages, and I'm not sure what they contribute to it.

I fuckin warned you, cobbler.

Muggles can't, and shouldn't, play Quidditch.

It's one of those things.

Like, not many humans can throw a football as far or in such a wondrously captivating way as Jay Cutler. So don't even try.

Indeed. However I did make myself goalie, or whatever they're called, so I wouldn't have to run with a fucking broom.

How does Chicago feel about him now? Has time healed the wounds?

scratch what i said about the kettle thing. ketel? whatever that's called. i don't even know what cobbler looks like, but the thought of him trying to run with a broom is way funnier than subliminal messages through animation. i just picture some skinny kid (who is definitely shitfaced) running around with a broom. every time he trips or nearly trips over the broom, instead of swearing he shouts random outkast lyrics, and it's hilarious.

If more of mates had come, this is exactly what would have happened.

well, now i get the bizarre posts pertaining to the barenaked ladies to be community references. only about 4 random music threads or so later, but still. seems like every clip i've seen of that show, the characters are all yelling at each other. seems really fucking annoying, not nearly wonderful and hilarious like you guys seem to think.

I knew I had, I didn't know it was literally the same question though. Still waiting for you to update the HIMYM thread with your thoughts

Ahhh shit man, I forgot to post in there. You know me, I love that show through thick and thin. I'm happy for Marshall and Lily but I don't really have much to say about the big wedding cliffhanger.

However, there was a scene late in the season, I think it was either the second or third to last episode of Season 6...and it's easily one of my favorite HIMYM moments ever. Definitely a favorite in terms of Lily/Robin interaction. Coby KILLS it.

Do you guys think that shouter like "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own"?

These are the questions that keep me up. Not really. But, they pop into my head. I've just made a delicious turkey sandwich.

Bur for real. Shouter, what do you think about this song? Any recollections, emotions, opinions...as much as you're willing to divulge on a public forum...

Nah I hear what you're saying. That's part of why I didn't like season two as much as the first (good as it was). The mood became a bit darker, and there was a lot of unnecessary yelling.

 Yeah I thought it was probably their worst season closing episode in the show's run. But I still love it.

Robin had a lot of those gangsta moments this season, it was great. She also looked fucking hot all season, more than usual. This episode in particular.

The ?uestlove article (and one of Jay Z's lyrics on Watch the Throne) lead me to finally understanding what "Jordan game six" means. Just watched it on youtube. Holy shit that must have been mental to watch and experience. And wow, if Stockton had nailed that final shot...

For Emma, Forever Ago come at me.

It's good. Will definitely come back to it (I will even buy it tomorrow if someone can tell me if the liner notes have lyrics?). I feel like I probably would have enjoyed it more if I had lyrics in front of me.

The Wolves and re: Stacks were outstanding. Rarely do songs move me the very first time I hear them, particularly if I don't have the lyrics, but both those tracks seemed to.

I very much enjoy that song. I don't listen to it too often, but I have heard it a great many times.

Just wrote a really, really, really long and exhausting post, but it's embarrassing and I guess I'm not posting it. Maybe some other time. Let it be known that I think the song is catchy and emotionally resonant, and that that's more than good enough for me, in most cases.
