It all started cuz she was outside and I guess she read my bumper sticker that says "What Would Bono Do." Cuz she comes up to me and asks me that and of course I go on a ramble about how great U2 is.

Well that just started her bashing Bono session.

I understand why you're upset, but it's not worth wasting your energy on her Kristen. She knows you're a U2 fan and figured it would piss you off and she was right. By showing you're upset, you're giving her what she wants.

That said, I know letting things slide is easier said than done.

Had this girl at my work today completely put Bono down for no reason. She was going on and on about how he a creepy old man and that he probably takes all his charity money for himself
Like wtf
I was so angry so of course I go into a long speech about how much stuff he's done for the poor and what an amazing band U2 is.
She's telling me how much their music sucks and yet she can't even name 5 U2 songs that I asked her to.

She then asks me how many kids he has and I'm like he has two girls and two boys. She then argues with me for 10 minutes trying to convince me he only has three kids


Oh and last but not least she tells me that he sleeps with tons of groupie's and that she's surprsied no one has come forward to tell all about it for the publicity.

I was seriously livid

Yeah, I don't know what you'd do in that situation. I guess just shrug and say "to each his own". I also usually say something like "I don't really care what other people think of the music I listen to. It doesn't change my opinion of the music or the musician." Or, "Yeah, I probably hate some of the stuff you listen to, too. But that's not going to change your opinion of it, right?"

That's what I tell my students when they try to get a rise out of me by saying "u2 sucks" or something equally intelligent.

Today, MVD messages me and tells me she found a great lower level seat for $70 and if I wanted it, I could have it and pay her back.

I just hate the whole "Pleban" label and what it stands for around here. So, you find a band member attractive, that negates everything you have to say in the entire forum? Fuck that. Even when I wasn't actively involved in this forum so much, I thought that was bullshit.

I remember being really ashamed of my PLEBAn status when I first started posting here but now I think it's kinda funny to insert PLEBA type comments into other parts of the forum. We shouldn't be confined!

One more rant, and I promise I'm done. What I find the worst is hypocrisy. There are notably some people around here that were former "Plebans" that have grown out of it. Fine, dandy. And yet they diss people who do identify as Plebans. What the fuck ever. That's so lame.
