:up:Yeah, those are GA's ... Quick question - Do you live in the LA area or somewhere else? (Because I have heard about people having better success in the general sales if they are accessing TM from an area away from the concert city.)

I live in San Diego but I just looked at the TM confirmation and they say Section (FIELD) a Row Number (GA_) and they also have seat numbers which I'm not sure if these are sequential depending on your place that you bought but my numbers are pretty low so now I am worried I have purchased seats.

Yeah I heard some people were having problems buying Vancouver tickets from the Ticketmaster.ca site. I was trying for Van tix too, but from the US site. I scored GAs immediately.
It is a Canadian date though so chances are there were way more people using ticketmaster.ca. Makes sense really. I can't wait woooo!:hyper:

Definitely GA - mine says the same thing.

Great - that's reassuring - I would be suprised though if the seat numbers on my ticket meant what position you bought as that would mean I was within the top 10 people which I would find hard to believe! Hope it''s a good concert and see you in line!

That's just ticketbastard's way of keeping track of how many GA's they sell. Mine say GA3 15 and 16 on them, and I purchased from the Fanclub sale.

^Damn, I should have used the US site. I got nosebleeds for Vancouver, but at least I'm going. I'll probably try to buy some better tickets before the concert though.

I used the US site right at 10am also and got nosebleeds. Section 409, which looks like it has a partially obstructed claw view also. Oh well, like you I'm just extremely excited to be able to go in the first place. :D

7 tickets for $770 Canadian! Ouch! It's something like $630 US so that helped a bit.

$12.50 "convenience fee" for every ticket :angry::angry:

I'll keep you in mind for my 2. I have family down there, but it depends on airfare and $$ so I'm not sure yet.

Thanks! I really appreciate that. I hope you get to go though. :)

That fucking sucks man. Did you have a lot of things running at the same time?

No, I sure didn't. I made sure of that too. I called the web site, because now I'm even experiencing problems trying to bid in the RED auction, and that was a nightmare of getting bounced around and disconnected. Here I am close to 4pm and still empty handed. Ticketmaster has been in existence for years. You'd think they'd stop being so incompetent at some point.

got 4 behind the stage for $150 total

26-L Row 60-something

this was on the phone, online didnt pull up any $30 section behind the stage ... wondering if that high up i'll be staring at the roof of the stage and not the band

Yeah, with the stage being so massive (164 feet high), and the Rose Bowl seats not as steep (130 feet tall, I believe), you should be able to see the band with no problems. Pretty good seats you got there, IMO.

I had some at one point for that section but then didn't do it in time so I went for $30 ones in section 450. After so many trial and errors it really came down to selecting seats in the upper level behind the stage or a front view shot from far away. So your tickets were the $90 ones....hmm...the price sure goes up as soon as you get past the curved section, and even then they're still nosebleeds.

At any rate....it's a great day...we are going to U2 so that's all that matters.

got 12 GA tickets today....

Was anyone able to pull up GA's today by trying for 4 or more tickets??

Pretty lucky day for me today...got 8 GA tickets for the DC show and 4 GA tickets for the LA show. Got the 8 tixs on ticketmaster online and the 4 LA tixs by calling into ticketmaster 15 min early...by the time my call got through it was 09:58, the guy was nice and held on the phone with me until 10am and put my order in immediately (remember they can order tickets faster than we can because they don't have to put in a phrase to order...every second counts for GA tickets). For some reason, the first minute of LA only allowed 4 tickets to be purchased. Computer and phone was a good combo for me.

Similar to Cville sales

You know what? In every sale I went for 8 tickets, I got thru.

In only 2 sales where I went for 2 tickets, did I get thru.

I'm seeing a pattern: if you ask for 8 tickets at 10:00 am immediately, it blocks off those 8 quicker than it would 2. I think going for higher numbers increases your chances, not decreases

After I got GA's for Cville and DC in presales... I tested to see how Cville sales were going.

When I requested 2 tickets for seats... empty every time. When I requested 3... a number of sets of 3 came up... repeatedly.

I tried buying 2 GA tickets for the Rose Bowl at exactly 10AM. After having to wait about 15 minutes TM gave me Sec. 25-L Row 41 - South Side. And I bought them.

On the receipt it says Standard Admission - Select GA/Reserved below. But on the tickets themselves it doesn't mention GA at all.

Are these seats any good? Are these behind stage? Will I be able to see the band?

You should be able to see the band. The Claw thing is apparently gigantic, and while we have yet to see exactly what it'll look like in person, I can't imagine it would block the view of someone as low down as you are.

Considering how big the Rose Bowl is, you're going to be a lot closer to the band behind the stage in Section 25 than if you were in front of the stage, say in section 11 or 12.

Finally, considering that the place is sold out of pairs of tickets (I could only pull up singles when I checked just now), you should probably consider yourself lucky that you were just able to get tickets to the show.

Thanks for the reply.

Ticketmaster really ticks me off. Its mostly my fault I got behind stage tix though. I should have chosen 'Field - GA' tickets instead of 'best available'.

Hopefully (like you said) the "360 degree" stage design will help my view.

Nice! Wow doing it the old way, that's what I call cool! I didn't even know you could still use the phone to order tickets!:applaud:

Maybe, but from the sounds of it, a lot of the GAs were taken in the presale. Unless you're super lucky, you probably wouldn't have gotten them anyway.

U2 360 TOUR Presented by BlackBerry: FASTEST SELL OUT & LARGEST CONCERT ATTENDANCE IN ROSE BOWL HISTORY

U2 360 TOUR Presented by BlackBerry: FASTEST SELL OUT & LARGEST CONCERT ATTENDANCE IN ROSE BOWL HISTORY

U2 CONCERT SOLD OUT AT 90,000 TICKETS!

TOTAL TICKET SALES FOR U2 360 TOUR REACH 2.5 MILLION

LOS ANGELES, April 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With combined sales this morning of over 450,000 tickets sold, U2 360 Tour has now surpassed an amazing 2.5 million tickets sold throughout Europe and North America since the tour was announced on March 9th.

The response to the tour has been overwhelming as records continue to shatter as new shows are put on sale. In Los Angeles, at 4:00 pm today, tour promoters Live Nation announced that the Rose Bowl performance was sold out at 90,000 tickets. This makes U2's October 25th performance both the fastest selling and the largest attended concert to play the Rose Bowl in history.

Last Monday, when the first North American shows were put on sale, U2 360 Tour, presented by BlackBerry, set the largest single day attendance records in New York (82,000 tickets sold), Boston (72,000 tickets sold) and Chicago (65,000 tickets sold). This morning continued the trend as a 2nd and final New York Giant Stadium performance (Sept. 25th) was an immediate sell-out, bringing the total tickets sold at that venue to 164,000. In Washington sales quickly surpassed 60,000 tickets sold in the first few hours while the 2nd Chicago concert (Sept 13th) sold an additional 60,000 tickets. Vancouver kept up the momentum with over 57,000 tickets sold. Along with the huge L.A. success, additional on-sales in Atlanta, Tampa and the second Boston performance brought today's total ticket sales to over 450,000.

The European sales have also been record breaking. At Dublin's Croke Park, 160,000 tickets for U2 360 Tour performances on July 24th and 25th sold out in just 40 minutes leading to the immediate announcement of a 3rd and final event in that city. Sales in Gothenburg and Amsterdam were so brisk that 2nd performances were added and sold out within hours of them going on sale. In Zagreb all previous sales records in that country were shattered with an unprecedented two sold out stadium events. U2's tour opener in Barcelona sold out in 54 minutes becoming the fastest ever sold out show in the history of pop music in Spain with a second show subsequently added.

The final 2009 concert dates were also announced today. Tickets for U2 concerts in Raleigh, NC on October 3rd at Carter Finlay Stadium as well as the October 18th performance in Norman, OK at Oklahoma Memorial Stadium go on sale this Friday. Tickets for the October 23rd performance at Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, NV go on sale this Saturday. And lastly, tickets for the October 12th performance in Dallas, TX at New Cowboys Stadium, in Houston, TX on October 14th at Reliant Stadium and in Phoenix, AZ on October 20th at University of Phoenix Stadium will go on sale Monday, April 20th.

Full details of all dates and on-sale information as well as a virtual model of the unique production and seating positions can be found on a dedicated microsite at U2.com. Subscribers to U2's official website U2.com will have an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of the public on sale date.

Wow. Now I do feel lucky I managed behind stage tickets.

So is there still a chance for a 2nd LA show?

Stoked- got three for DC and two for C'ville, but a bit pissed about DC tix. Not bad, but Sec 300-ish on the far end of Fed Ex Field. Hoping that big screen will kick in...

Charlottesville, however, while right behind stage, look awesome.

Anyone know anymore about the FedEx as a venue here? I really wish they kept old Largo- that place had history, and amazing acoustics. Live as hell.
