Haha, you aren't the only person I know who uses that excuse.
My mother used to make all our neighbours feel really bad, since she religiously cleaned her car every weekend back around 2000. It was the cleanest car on our block! It even compelled some of our neighbours to more regularly clean their car. Now? She barely touches it, ostensibly as a water-saving measure ...

Although I love October, it's the only U2 album where I can't instantly put music to a song title. Particularly in the second half of the album.
I remember when I was little, my friends and I would EXCITEDLY clean the car! Oh, it was fun. Water! Bubbles!
I'm sure Mum was disappointed that we grew up.
