Not to rehash this old debate ... but I truly think the first-come-first-serve is the most fair method. Granted, there are people who cannot get to the line before 5:00 with legitimate reasons, but the best way to operate GA lines is the policy which is most fair to those who manage to wait all day for that coveted ellipse spot.
I am getting to the ACC this Friday from Montreal, and I might not get there until mid-afternoon. And even though a lottery would benefit me personally the most in this case, it still is not fair to those who wait so much longer.
While I understand how some people could prefer the lottery system, I truly don't understand how people can say that it is the most 'fair' method.
