There's been WAY too much of that lately, I agree.

UberBeaver said:I have a question: Do they not have plays, shows, musicals in other cities than NY? Like if I went to Chicago to assassin.... to eat a deep dish pizza, I could catch a show, right? I know they're not called Broadway shows, but still, they have them, right? Same as in Boston and Philly and Phoeniz or whatever? Does NYC just have more of them? I'm asking because I notice people say things like they want to see certain shows in NYC, and I don't understand why. What's the difference? Unless a celebrity is in it?
Speaking of which - Long Days Journey Into Night with Brian Dennehy, Vanessa Redgrave, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and the guy from Dead Poets Society was awesome.
Thank you.

I saw Rent here in dingy little Detroit back in March. Other major cities get touring productions of Broadway shows quite frequently.
I think for most it's the allure of seeing a show on "Broadway". I've seen two shows in NYC and they were fantastic. And I'm pretty sure that the only major name I've seen perform was Michael McKean in Hairspray. I really regret that I didn't see Bebe Neuwirth when I saw Chicago.

UberBeaver said:I have a Panera within walking distance of my office, and I've never been. When you win the lottery you fly out here and buy us some of whatever they have @ Panera. I'm assuming bread. Beyond that, I dunno.

Perhaps. Or I can fly you out here
snowbunny00774 said:or you can just fly me out there....I think that works best really.

That works just as well. What partof CA are you in? Near LA or SF or SD or somewhere in between?

ETA: I noticed we are getting a Panera. Is this a good thing?
