I haven't heard that many Springsteen albums just

Born to Run, Human Touch, Lucky Town, The Rising, Devils and Dust, Magic and Working on a Dream (as well as the Essential), while Working on a Dream is better than Lucky Town I still prefer the other four I've heard greatly

Save up your lunch money and go get Born to Run immediately!

Born to Run was the first album I listed

I actually don't own a single Springsteen album I just steal my dad's CDs, he probably has some of his older albums on tape somewhere, I'd imagine he would :hmm:

martha - what's ur opinion of the new album? I gave it a listen in full today and a few stood out straight away. Im sure the others will grow. I love Outlaw Pete, The Wrestler and Queen of the supermarket!

I haven't heard it yet. From the few songs I've heard, I don't have high hopes for it. I'm not a fan of the newer, mellower Bruce.

It seems you're not alone:

Overall, then, Working on a Dream is not only a worthy album, but also an enjoyable one. But when you’ve built a career on inspiring nothing less than transcendence, is enjoyable really a worthy goal? When your fans have come to expect that feeling of epiphany, can you justify only giving them a glimpse of it? I get the feeling that driver would say no.

Pretty miserable score.

Did you like the last album, Magic, Martha?

Yeah, aside from Rolling Stone's usually biased rating, this album is receiving less than stellar reviews, and rightfully so. It's easily his worst album of the decade.

And PopMatters is usually a very good source for Springsteen reviews. They gave Magic an 8, which is about right. The Seeger Sessions album also scored well.

He's had one hell of a decade. All of the other albums really are fantastic.

Perhaps we should just consider Working On A Dream a bonus. After all, with the relative inactivity in the 90's, who could have predicted FIVE albums in the 2000's?

I don't know if this has been mentioned, but KLOS in L.A. announced tonight that Bruce will be at the L.A. Sports Arena on 4/15/09 - tickets on sale soon (I think).

\driveby

One stop on the west coast? Come on, Bruce. Head NORTH. Seattle. You know you want to.

Hell, I'll take Portland or Vancouver, too.

I am DL-ing the iTunes pre-order
Nothing announced yet for the midwest ~ Self, repeat after me, patience is a virtue, patience is a virtue

All I know is that KLOS had a big 5:00pm PST concert announcement Monday evening. I had the radio on later in the day, and he mentioned the date & venue as well as giving a pair of tickets away to the show. Needless to say I didn't get through. I'm sure more dates are imminent.

Kind of a weird schedule. They go from LA all the way to Boston, and they totally miss the Northwest. You'd think at least Seattle would be there, perhaps near the Denver date.
