What are the chances that Bono was listening to that Haim song when he had his crash?
"The truth can be awkward." Well, that's not exactly how Lamar pronounces it. He can't pronounce it, actually. Unable. Why put this goof on the record, sandwiched between two songs? (rhetorical) A desperate reach by U2.
Have to say the liner notes by Bono are a great read. Passionate and poetic but with a sense of realism too. I would love to read his memoir one day. I think people would be surprised at how good a writer he can be. Like Springsteen. Springsteen’s book was awesome - now that man can write.
And Track 7 on his Songs of Experience is called “The Fly”.Some guy named David Axelrod (not the Obama guy) did an album called Songs Of Experience in 1969. The previous year he had Song (singular) of Innocence. Lawsuit.

Wonder what it sounded like a year ago.
Lol I'm listening to it now. U2 's version is definitely superior. And Track 7 on his Songs of Experience is called “The Fly”.
Is there a quality scan of the liner notes anywhere?
The downside of the world of streaming
Wow, those little mini documentaries on Spotify in the "This Is U2" playlist are amazingly well produced. You all should definitely go and watch those.
- None of the songs will be live staples in the future. Little Things will be close to epic for a lot of die-hards, but casual listeners won't latch onto it.
- There are great moments of U2 veering into new directions; but it's not full-force enough to get me excited much.
*yes, the one that everyone knows
This album contains 3 songs that could potentially break into my top 20 U2 songs which is saying a lot. I’m taking about Little Things, Love Is Bigger, and Blackout.

U2 v Taylor swift for number 1 next week.. u2 predicted to get 195k. So they could get 200k. Taylor swift sold 140k this week which was 40% down on last weeks sales. Really cannot see her getting anywhere near 200k even though it's released to streaming sites
The impact of Swift being released to streaming is really hard to predict.
On one hand, her fan base will be right in the streaming demo.
On the other, streaming doesn’t boost sales as much as it probably should, and I’m sure Swift’s release strategy was designed to increase real sales (more profitable) - the effect of which has already been used in her first two weeks of sales.
I can’t see U2 not taking #1 in most countries after this. 200k this week, and probably well below 100k next week.
I feel you, I was at Newark airport at the time getting ready to board a flight to Iceland! Good thing I didn't see this before I left, but no use grumbling now.
