I just got back from my quilt guild meeting. We had a nationally known guest speaker, she is considered like one of the top dogs in the quilting world. So a few of the gals took her out to dinner, I was invited to go as always, but couldn't get a sitter. Well it seems while they were at dinner she asked about our guild and the members and the one person she was told that she just had to meet was......yep you guessed it, ME!!!!

She told me how everyone said that I was an amazingly gifted artist who should be teaching and touring! So she wanted to see my work. Of course I didn't have the art quilt I started this weekend, but I did have the Bono portrait that I did this afternoon!

So I showed her the Bono portrait and I'm waiting for her to say its total crap and she goes "OH my gosh that's Bono!!" I about cried! She thought it was so good and said she totally loves it! She wants me to send her pics when the quilt is done. She told me to keep doing what I'm doing, because one day I will be teaching, touring, and blowing people away at Nationals with my work! I almost cried. It was like the biggest compliment I've ever gotten from a working artist and from the other members of my guild. Its so nice to know they think so much of me and my work.

Sorry I swooped in like a psychotic nut, its just been a long hard journey to this place. I've been going against the grain so long in my life and it gets really tiring sometimes being told you shouldn't do things the way I do. Its nice to realize that some people are backing you.

She loved my tattoo as well. hehe Actually that was a major hit. Some of the gals said it looks like it could be a quilt pattern so of course they like it.

Okay I will have to go back and see if Sim Russty has been getting any action while I was gone.
