I was really bored the other night and started playing some U2 tracks backwards. When I listened to Mofo in reverse, I was amazed at how easy it was to hear words - almost as if they were recorded that way and then reversed for the album. Here is a transcript:

I love the rush
I love the rush
I love the rush
I love the rush
I love the rush
I love the rush
I'm going to the moon
I love the moose
Hard thing to do
I love the moon
I love the moon
I love the moose
Higher higher
My love
Higher high low
I love her
I want to fuck this all over
I love her
World perfect
World turn inside of me
I love her
How ridiculous... it's
My love
Let them leave
Let them live
They answer where our baby has youthful difficulties
Let them leave
Let them live
Baby how do I know? I should hide - here's a muse
Let them leave
Let them live
I cry over this summer of awful fake people
Let them leave
Let them live
I won't mind Irish people
It's not some fake people
My name - ask noone
Actually, it's noone
We must see a man who's telling of man
I say, so you're sick
I lost some of your money
So why you wait on that?
I'm gone
My love
My love
My love
My love
My love
I love her
Did not
Oh I'm a camera
Camera had this great idea to go on
I love her
Are you coming fast enough?
Oh I don't know
Let them leave
Let them live
She had her split up to disease
The better for me
Let them leave
Let them live
She had fishnet
Score us wasted on love-love-love
Let them leave
Let them live
She had a soft knit Welsh designed sweater on
I love her
I think I can use it
I love her
Oh yes, I can have her if I think of you
Looks like wine and oaks and symphony
Oh time for this, time feels, so feel good
Note: the italicized parts are backing vocals
Granted, it doesn't make much sense as a whole, but some lines REALLY stand out as veritable plain English. I've attached one of them below.
Interesting how 'mother' reversed sounds like 'I love' and the line
Looking for to fill that God-shaped hole
reverses to
Oh yes, I can have her if I think of you
Don't ask me about the moose. I have no idea.
