Get on My Boots!

Just because I'm a sucker, I'll weigh in on the "Is Passengers a U2 album or not?" question. Here's my take on it:
-- There is no definitive answer to these kinds of questions, so arguing about it endlessly is incredibly pointless. Every U2 fan can have his/her interpretation of it, which is fine.
-- Here is my interpretation of it: "U2" is Bono, Edge, Adam, and Larry. "Passengers" was Bono, Edge, Adam, Larry (or not), and Eno (anyone else? I don't know...). Anyway, since the band decided Eno was a "member" of Passengers, and the band decided the record wasn't "U2", I therefore don't interpret the album as being by U2.
Before someone chimes in with "But-they-put-Miss-Sarajevo-on-a-U2-album" etc., my point above is about THE PASSENGERS ALBUM only.
This is quickly turning into the worst Buzzfeed article of all time.
My take is that it is a Brian Eno album featuring U2. I would even agree if someone said Passengers is its own "group"(i.e. Not U2 or an Eno album).
Certainly not a popular opinion, but if OS1 were capable of maintaining the quality of its first half across 11-12 songs, it would be a top 5 U2-related project type thing.
Sadly, the second half only works in fits and starts. Still a great record regardless. I'd rather listen to it over anything they've done since, save Pop.
how in the fuck could it be "a Brian Eno album featuring U2"?
Have you people been actually listening to Eno records?
(...)
The only moment when OS1 truly feels like a pure Eno record to me is Plot 180 because...
Peddled by the same people with the same bland tastes, something a little bit different therefore it might besmirch the U2 canon.
This is the way I see it aswell.

(Still, that doesn't explain how can you dislike Your Blue Room)
I just think that OS1 is a great album and I don't care at all how someone chooses to classify it. However, when I think about U2's catalog, I personally include it, because it's an important part of what U2 did and who U2 were in the 90s.

"songs"
It just doesn't compute how people can think it is equivalent to say "Brian Eno feat U2" and "U2 feat Brian Eno" for this particular record.
