I waited patiently for the Lord
He inclined and heard my cry.
He brought me right out of the pit,
out of my miry clay.
I will sing a new song,
How long to sing this song?
He set my feet upon a rock,
and made my footsteps heard.
Many will see,
Many will see and fear.
I will sing, sing a new song.
How long to sing this song?

8 : I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

a new song
a new hope
a new earth

but new in what way?
Returning is the motion
(Is that why)
it feels
Like you're coming home

And you know it's time to go
Through the sleet and driving snow
Across the fields of mourning
Light in the distance

And you hunger for the time
Time to heal, desire, time
And you earth moves beneath
Your own dream landscape

Oh, oh, oh...
On borderland we run...

I'll be there
I'll be there...
Tonight
A high road
A high road out from here

The city walls are all come down
The dust, a smoke screen all around
See faces ploughed like fields that once
Gave no resistance

And we live by the side of the road
On the side of a hill
As the valley explode
Dislocated, suffocated
The land grows weary of its own

Oh, oh, oh...on borderland we run...
And still we run
We run and don't look back
I'll be there
I'll be there
Tonight
Tonight

I'll be there tonight...I believe
I'll be there...somehow
I'll be there...tonight
Tonight

The wind will crack in winter time
This bomb-blast lightning waltz
No spoken words, just a scream...

Tonight we'll build a bridge
Across the sea and land
See the sky, the burning rain
She will die and live again
Tonight

And your heart beats so slow
Through the rain and fallen snow
Across the fields of mourning
Light's in the distance

Oh don't sorrow, no don't weep
For tonight, at last
I am coming home
I am coming home

A Sort Of Homecoming, indeed.

I never thought of this song in that way - yes, I always liked it. But now it has a new meaning to me.

'and you hunger for the time,
time to heal, desire time
and your earth moves beneath
your own dream landscape'

...all of it, actually. All of the song. It is there.

'Tonight we'll build a bridge
Across the sea and land
See the sky, the burning rain
She will die and live again
Tonight '

build the bridge across sea and land.

For Honor, I noticed the quotes......are they your words?

'Yet it was in the Song', said Yavanna. 'For while thou wert in the heavens and with Ulmo built the clouds and poured out the rains, I lifted up the branches of great trees to receive them, and some sang to Iluvatar amid the wind and the rain.'----
from The Silmarillion by J.R.R. Tolkien

The quotation blocks are

"40" lyrics - U2
Section 8 of psalm 40, via an online Bible
"A Sort Of Homecoming" lyrics - U2

in that order.

depends on what you mean, I guess.

To use Christian terminology, yes, in a way I did find Jesus. He was with me all along.

what's real can't die

...you only get what you give...

(because you can only generate what you already have. And you have already inside of you much more than you realize)
