I have to give a tour today. :scream:   :censored: Our staff assistant usually gives tours, unless we have interns. We have an intern now, but the group is a big school group and we're limited in how many people one person can take into the Capitol, so we have to break it up into four tours. Our Legislative Correspondent, the next person in line, is out this week, so I'm the lucky person who gets group #3 and then the staff assistant from another office is coming to take #4. I am SO freaking out. I HATE giving tours, especially to large groups. I get REALLY nervous and forget everything and want to throw up, and I'm not assertive enough to keep a group of kids together, and I can't talk loudly enough for people to hear me. Our staff assistant thinks I'm being a bitch, but I can't help it and I'm seriously about to cry. :scream: :barf:

aww meggy! hope it goes ok, I hate doing that kind of thing too, not that I've ever done it in the same context lol. Just focus and try to appear relaxed. School kids can be horrible, but you might get a nice bunch who try to listen and stuff. Tell them they'll get 'escorted' off the premises if anyone strays to make them follow you!

good luck :)

 You'll be fine. Seriously. You have the upper hand, these kids should not intimidate you.

 Meggie, just take a deep breath...yeah, teenagers are terrible, horrible things, but they can be okay, especially when they realize that their guide is confident. Don't let them scare you and take advantage of you! keep your chin up! Good luck!
