Yeah, I think they're going for the first gig as U2 ... they were "U2 Malahide" at the Harp Lager Talent Contest on 16 March 1978, then the first U2 gig proper was four days later. They did a set as The Hype to farewell Dik, then came back for a set as U2.

I am seriously considering e-mailing them and offering my services. I don't know if they'd read it or care, but it's worth a try. This is the single most atrocious tour section I have seen for any band in my life.

So since I won't have my Vox at my band's first show, I had to make my Fender amp sound good. Since the humbuckers in it are muddy, that meant I had to really change around the tone on the amp. The treble is at 12, the mids are at 3, and the bass is at 2.
