when i was in vegas this past weekend, i was at a buffet with diamond, abel, baw, mr an mrs edge....... our waitress would not stop calling me sweety or sweetheart! i was about ready to smack her up side the head but i didn't..

it really ticks me off when people who see my handicap or my hearing aides and start being extra nice to me because i may look different to them. i am the same as everybody else! same thing happens when guys call me 'buddy'.

oohh, i remember a couple months ago when my family and i were getting some family portraits done at a photo studio... we had this dumb mofo steven baldwin look-alike guy who just would not stop calling me buddy EVEN AFTER i asked him to stop, myself. when he said it again, i was ready to punch his face in, i'll tell u. he does the crappiest job on portraits ever, rest of my family didn't like him either! what a loser.

I think it's definitely something that's more common in the South (and some parts of the Midwest) than anywhere else.

It's just where I grew up. It's a part of daily language...sort of like using the word "like" or "dude" is a sentence.
