Hi PLEBA !

I have no idea if Bono will attend the Emmy Awards tonight but just to let you all know that the "ONE" ad that we're all familiar with has been nominated for an Emmy.

So, since U2 has no concert scheduled tonight, there is always the possibility that Bono might show up.

At least let's all hope that the ONE ad wins its Emmy! ;)

No - the MakePovertyHistory 'click' adverts are not presently allowed on British TV.

The ONE adverts are considered PSA's in the USA and are still occasionally seen on MTV and other channels.

The award that they're up for is for something technical - like direction or something.

The info has been up on the ONE site for awhile.

Here it is:

Well, it was there a few days ago - I guess we'll all know by tomorrow morning.

Why were the ads banned in some places???

It wasn't allowed to be shown in the UK because law forbids any paid TV advertising which show political influence. As the MPH campaign is aiming to influence government to change policies and is not a charity as such, it fits into this category and is therefore not allowed on our TVs. :(

There was a thread in FYM and EYKIW about it :)

From what I've found out from another source, the ad didn't win.

It's somewhere on the official Emmys site, but I don't jave the time to surf through the site to find it.

Here's the Emmys site: http://www.emmys.org

Here's one of the discussions at Interference regarding the "MakePovertyHistory" ads:

Thanks for caring, everyone.
