Cool
Any thoughts on what they will do between the end of this leg and August 2010?
They will be in North America in June and July 2010.

No UK/Ireland dates whatsoever?
Disappointed.
Good point chilaquiles.
Both UK and Ireland may get one each. They are playing more than 12 shows on this European leg. Everything has not been announced yet.
The other 8 shows might be:
Dublin
Manchester
Zurich
Rome
Madrid
Werchter
Oslo
Southern France

I also think there are too many German shows.
No chance of Manchester - no available stadiums at that time of year (and the City of Manchester is off-limts to all gigs since they were taken over). I cannot see them skipping London, it remains a major and lucrative market and they could all but guarantee selling out at least 1 night there, probably 2 if it were the only UK venue. Come September there are basically only 2 venues available for use - Wembley & Cardiff - all the other big stadiums have resident football teams.
Wouldn't be surprised if somewhere like Edinburgh got visited this time, long time since they have played Scotland outside Glasgow.
What about:
Islamabad, Pakistan
Kabul, Afghanistan
Baghdad, Iraq
Tehran, Iran
U2 sucks!
Seriously, there are so many locations they haven't visited yet where people have tons of money to throw at them:
Dubai, UAE
New Delhi/Mumbai, India
Johannesburg/Cape Town, South Africa
Hong Kong, China
Singapore
Why repeat US and Europe when you can cover more of the planet and reach out to more fans? I don't get it.
I'm not sure I understand this reasoning. Don't most of the other European stadiums on Leg 4 have football/soccer teams too? Why would this prevent U2 from playing in the UK but not in Germany or Russia?Come September there are basically only 2 venues available for use - Wembley & Cardiff - all the other big stadiums have resident football teams.
They played Johannesburg/Cape Town, South Africa on POPMART.

Ok this thread has more info.

A mod said we could use our codes if we didnt use them already, but only within your subscription period, so it sounds like if your subscription expires before the tickets go on sale you wont be able to use the code and you'll have to renew.
There are updated FAQ on U2.com. It's not perfectly, clear but my impression is that a complete and partial unused code can still be used for any upcoming presale and that you will only be sent a new code if you resubscribe in which case you can use the old one and the new one.
From what I read on U2.com (in the FAQs for the tour) if I understand it right
1) Unused pre-sale codes will still be valid
2) New pre-sale codes will also be issued to current subscribers
3) New subscribers (i.e. those who only sign-up to U2.com today (after the new tour dates announcement) will fall under a new category for the presale. Previously Boots subscribers were the last in line - now Boots subscribers can buy tickets on the last day of pre-sale date in the morning whilst the newest category of subscribers (called Magnificent) will have to wait until the pm.
4) Certainly for the forthcoming North American shows people with unused presale codes can buy the usual four tickets four/different shows with the old presale code and another 4/4 with the new code. Not sure about Europe though.
I'm not sure I understand this reasoning. Don't most of the other European stadiums on Leg 4 have football/soccer teams too? Why would this prevent U2 from playing in the UK but not in Germany or Russia?
So #2 in this list from the previous thread isn't accurate?

The German dates are before the start of the season there, Munich has no team that plays there. For Russia there are 2 teams that play there so one would be at home the weekend either side of it - not sure if their season is in progress at that time or on a break. Can they put up and take down the stage in that short a space of time? I believe the stadium has an artificial pitch so that might open up a window of opportunity.
I stand to be corrected on the following -
Sevilla has no team playing there, both clubs there play in their own grounds. Panathanaikos will be in their own stadium by 2010 so no team in Athens Stadium. The Ataturk has no team that plays there, nor does the Stade de France or the Ernst Happel.
Certainly in the UK no Premier League chairman would allow a gig after the season has started, I can't even think of any gig that has been staged in a UK footy ground during a season.
oeticket and eventim.
