We're told that Democrats are basically the same as the GOP. Maybe not AS evil, but they're fuck-ups just the same.

Here's a reality that's probably very tough to accept, this may be as good as it ever gets in this country. We have a society built on greed. There are wonderful, beautiful aspects of life, and we see plenty of kindness and compassion that come out of people all the time.

Then we see hoards of people smashing into each other to buy the latest toy on Black Friday.

I want there to be nice things. I want an end to suffering (and there is one). But it takes everyone to work on themselves to reach that stage, and it's really hard work.

Knowing that it's a long path, I'm OK with having not so enlightened Democrats in power. Because while it's not perfect for everyone, they don't consistently screw over the less fortunate in society. They don't start Wars when in power, they don't pass tax cuts to the wealthy, and they don't strip away healthcare during a pandemic.

Again, there is much to improve upon within the party. But considering the populace they have to work with, this might be as good as we achieve. Some incremental progress on social issues, on wealth, equality. But all that gets crapped on when we elect the GOP. And we may have lost any chance at progress for decades with Trump being in charge for one term

I appreciate the catharsis, but I’d file this specific action into the “unhelpful” category. .

Agree.
Don't know who the couple is, but that action is unnecessary. If it was Mnuchin or Rudy or similar, fine. But if they are regular folks who were just invited guests, leave them out of the fray.

Disagree. They can go fuck themselves. Those people know what they believe. They didn’t just casually show up as invited guests.

Consider what kind of home and culture those old people grew up in and what it taught them. They were clearly failed by many people in their lives.

I have zero issue with double birds being thrown up to every last one of the fuckers that left that shit show. Four of em to David Wells.

They didn't get their tickets off of StubHub. They didn't show up to dinner and run into protesters. They didn't show up to a free public political event.

They are there because they actively support this authoritarian cosplayer beyond the average Joe buying a MAGA hat, and thus then they can to fuck themselves.

Herschel Walker and Aubrey Huff too

Athlete hall of shame. They have every right to their political views, but I draw the line at supporting racism, white supremacy, misogyny, and calling a 17 year old police abetted killer a national treasure. Those aren't political views.

Aubrey Huff as a piece of shit has been a known entity for a while now.

I believe my favorite part of yesterday's event was Dana White screaming into the television about how Trump's leadership allowed sports to come back.

UFC, btw, is holding fights at 5 a.m. in Abu Dahbi in order to stay in business because it's not possible in the US right now. But sure... yayy trump's leadership.

I sure wish Bob Kraft and Bill Belichick would renounce Trump too. I believe BB probably voted for him. Kraft, I don't know.

It's hypocrisy, in light of publicly supporting the cause and your African American players now. You sure both make tons of money off them. As a Patriots fan, I'm disgusted by the Trump ties. Yes they can vote for whomever they choose. But things in this country are so deplorable that it's way past next level now. Racism is not a political view. Equality is a human rights issue.

My fear is the game is already over. There is so much stacked against us already and the best we have is, vote.

Except the very power we have is being manipulated and stripped in the most crucial of places.

This will have to be the biggest turnout in history in places where it’ll be cold, raining, and potentially dangerous virus spreading.

Even if we win, we cannot let our guard down or the party of Q is what’s taking over next

Kraft is a UGE Trump guy, as is that guy in Tampa Bay.

Yes the Tom stuff disgusted me too. You can't have a MAGA hat in your locker during Trump times and claim that he's just your friend and refuse to talk about whether you support Trump or not. I still admire him as a QB and athlete and always will. But I don't admire his middle of the road refusal to address important social issues in order to protect his image.

If you don't want to talk about it, don't display your MAGA hat from your "golfing buddy". That's Tampa's problem now lol

The question is have they changed their stance since last election. If they have, then no issue. If not, its a problem.
There are lots of folks who voted for him in 2016 thinking he was an outsider who was going to shake things up, they were sold a bill of goods. Belichick had a relationship with him going back to NY days, Kraft had a business relationship. I doubt either (plus many hundreds of thousands maybe millions of average voters) ever fathomed a Trump presidency would turn out the way it has.

I would have to think that longtime friends of Trump are aware of his character flaws. Yes I'd concede that they might not have known the full extent of it. But Trump did not hide them well at all during the 2016 campaign. Or going back to the racist Obama birther conspiracy. And we all know about the Access Hollywood tape, the misogyny, the assault and rape accusations.

I agree that if they have changed their stance on Trump then that's a good thing. They're not required to divulge who they're voting for, nobody is. But these times require courage of convictions, and standing for equality. If you stand up publicly for your African American players and equality but you don't denounce a racist President then what does that make you? I guess they refuse to believe he's racist.
