Yeah, it's terrific. Whenever I listen I'm reminded that it's better than I think it is. Gun to my head, it's probably their best record, although I got burnt out on it (and TWFM) and so prefer to listen to the two most recent records and Sad Songs.

DI was my way into the band, specifically Looking for Astronauts on a Bonnie list, followed by this record, and then when I saw them live on this tour, I became a mega fan that I've been ever since. Also my partner's favourite band, so we share a special bond over The National. A truly brilliant band that means a whole lot to a heap of people.

I first saw them live about four weeks after High Violet was released. What a show.

1. Brainy
2. Anyone's Ghost
3. Bloodbuzz Ohio
4. Mistaken for Strangers
5. Secret Meeting
6. Squalor Victoria
7. Afraid of Everyone
8. Little Faith
9. All the Wine
10. Available
11. Conversation 16
12. Apartment Story
13. The Geese of Beverly Road
14. Abel
15. Daughters of the SoHo Riots
16. Sorrow
17. England
18. Fake Empire

19. Runaway
20. Lemonworld
21. Mr. November
22. Terrible Love

He wandered into the audience during Abel and settled next to me on the floor to finish the last chorus. Very memorable.

Seems like that Dylan album that's coming out is a double, and over 70 minutes long.

Not quite; from what I've read the second disc contains only the epic Murder Most Foul, and that the whole thing would have fit on one CD.

According to someone who found the info on iTunes:

1. I Contain Multitudes (4.38)
2. False Prophet (6.00)
3. 6.41
4. 6.32
5. 4.12
6. 4.13
7. 4.29
8. 7.22
9. 9.34
10. Murder Most Foul (16.56)

Not sure what the reasoning is behind the separation; hopefully we'll get a clarification at some point.

I see that Bryan Adams has decided to go down the path of "remind everyone you exist with a really bad take".

Love that he took it down from Twitter and replaced it with something bland, but has left it up on Instagram with comments turned off.

Pfftt, I was expecting way worse from what you were all saying. I've seen plenty of this stuff from vegans. I love the subset of vegans and the far-right.

Stumbled across this today...

Underrated album and cool to have the back story of the cover photo.

I've been meaning to ask you if you've ever listened to Dance Gavin Dance. Not sure if that's your cup of tea or not but fuck do I love that band.

Classic case of "should've got around to them but the band name sucks". I've regretted more than a few of those hasty dismissive decisions before, will I regret this one too?

Haha been there. I think you’d like their guitar work a lot. Best way to describe it is Prog Metalcore. Their videos are hilarious too.

Maybe this has been mentioned here before, but if anyone is interested in listening to some old-school synth-pop check out Nation of Language.

They have an album out later this month, but almost every track on it has already been released for streaming.

That Hayley Williams album is really excellent. It's filled with fantastic grooves and melodies, with a clean production approach that, while still experimental, avoids the muddiness of some of the King of Limbs tracks. Plus, Williams' singing and lyrics might be at their apex - it's cleared that she poured everything she had into this one. Definitely worth checking it out.

Hello posts from a week ago...
New Weezer song and current events inspired video:

Do I see Kate Pierson at the 3 minute mark?

If that's not Pierson, I'll eat my hat...and I'm actually wearing one today.

Speaking of Dublin bands, Fontaines D.C. have a new album coming. I enjoyed their debut record, which fits nicely with this whole punk/post-punk revival thing going on in Britain and Ireland in the last couple of years.

Here's a new video, brought to you by Tommy Carcetti and the citizens of Baltimore:

I'm listening to something right now, but I gotta come back for this video. I love that guy so much.

I approve. Thanks for sharing

 I'm also hopping on the Hayley Williams train, it's a really good album.

New albums from Charli XCX, Perfume Genius, Jason Isbell, Moses Sumney, Future and Sparks tonight. Been a slow week or two in music, but I expect to pull a couple favorites out of this batch.

Not sure how confident I am in the "write and record album in 6 weeks) concept that Charli is doing, but I'll reserve judgment until hearing.

If any of the tracks are half as good as Next Level Charli it will be worth it, I guess.

Forever is one of my favorite Charli songs ever and Claws is great too, so my expectations are quite high for this one.

U2 should really do a 6 week quarantine album, just for the hell of it.
