I hadn't heard of La Luz before this new album, but I wish I had. Sunny pop hooks with a little bit of bite and tasteful guitar heroics.

I have very high hopes for this album.

SAVAGES - NEW ALBUM TRAILER

2016 though? Why have a trailer this early?

Aaaaaand I'm the random guy rocking out in the audience at the beginning of that trailer. That's pretty cool!

Yeah, not sure why 2016, but the material I heard in January was incredible. The new songs got nearly as strong a crowd reaction as the older material.

A box of garbage bags is a strange thing. It births 30+ children, and then the last one immediately consumes it whole.

New Destroyer, Beach House and Yo La Tengo are all streaming. This is a good week.

Edit: I shouldn't say new Yo La Tengo as Stuff Like That There contains mostly covers and new versions along with some new songs.

Morrissey Chats to Larry King About Donald Trump, Obama, Cancer Diagnosis, Airport Groping, More | News | Pitchfork

It's weird, because unless my memory is failing me, I don't remember seeing clips of Morrissey talking before, especially in this kind of interview setting. Unless he talked to MTV back in the early 90s during the Arsenal/Vauxhall days I probably haven't.

There's something very strange about hearing him speak, despite the conversational nature of his lyrics. But it warms me to him, a nice counter to all the stories of him being difficult.

Man is he looking old, though.

I saw a headline saying it'd been the first time in ten years he'd done a sit down interview like that.

I still don't expect him to show up to FYF this weekend, but I listened to his debut again and God, I really hope he shows up this weekend.

Maybe no TV interviews, but he did several extensive radio interviews with Russell Brand back in the mid 2000s. Those were incredibly entertaining, because Brand apparently worships him, and he had no idea how to react to it.

Yeah, Frank Ocean's is overdue.

Him canceling FYF and all of these non-incidents of his album being "about to drop" have me convinced the album is 1) Straight Trash 2) No where near finished.

It was supposed to be out LAST YEAR.

Hopefully it's 2, not 1. But it does look ominous.

Alright, back in my coffee shop trying to read again and today they are blasting Born to Run. Clearly, it still reigns as my favorite Springsteen record but I was happy feel some love for BITUSA a couple of Saturdays ago in this same seat.

This is a long shot, but I wonder if someone can help me identify a song. It's one of those indie songs that turns up on every hipster restaurant playlist ever. The chorus is in a falsetto over a midtempo bass and synth line. I could have sworn it was MGMT from Oracular Spectacular at first, but I was wrong. It must be from 2010 or 2011.

We've probably all heard it a million times, but I can't find the damn thing and it's driving me nuts. I know this is vague as hell, but maybe someone knows it off the top of the head.

Edit: finally found it. Walking on a Dream by Empire of the Sun.
