This thread makes me exceedingly happy.
I actually felt dread at the thought of flipping through the tracks on POP. I knew that there were some clunkers and hadn't listened to it probably since 1999, but I'd forgotten the actual, physical revulsion I get at some of those tracks, ha! Christ!
Something that I shocked myself by not including was Yahweh. I hated it when it came out, but listening to the Bomb again, I found I like it now a lot more than I did then. And Yahweh shockingly didn't make me cringe. I think if I heard it on the radio today, I'd be happy, and it would sound better than anything else played around it.
Mine is pretty short:
Wake up Dead Man
Stuck in a Moment
Peace on Earth
When Love Comes to Town
If God Will Send his Angels
Red Light
Playboy Mansion
If You Wear That Velvet Dress
And bonus points for the person who mentioned the ringing at the end of Zooropa. That's totally between each of my tracks.
And yes, I actually like October back to front. I like the spirit of it, and definitely have listened to it more times over the years than POP. Lots of sneakily cool bass lines in there and bizarre song structure. And I don't mind wailing, shaky voiced Bono. Kind of dig it. Listening to it right now.
